Dilemma 19:17 - Aug 20 with 3637 viewsstowmarketrange

I have a tough choice on october 14th.It's my grandson's 1st birthday, but also Sunderland away.
I've put a poll on Facebook and most seem to non qpr fans and have opted for a poxy birthday party.I'm asking the sensible people on here the same question.Footy or party?

Spend every minute you can with your Grand-kids.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Why don't I just take him to Sunderland for his party?

Hmmmm....then I'd have to say to go to the party.

I'm only in my forties but I already know that I should have spent far more time with the people that I love. It's been one of the things that I've changed as I've gotten older. And it's made my life richer.

Rangers all day. Especially now we're going up.

I didn't realise 1 year olds had birthday parties?!

My 2 boys got a couple of gifts and spent the day napping and shitting themselves.

Go to the birthday party, keep in the good books with the family and the dough you would have spent on going to Sunderland, whack it in the Grandkids savings account.
After you check the score at half time and QPR are getting the inevitable whooping, you'll feel much better about yourself.

Go to Sunderland, have a night out in Newcastle, take lots of photos and show your grandson on his 18th what you got up to on his 1st 😉

Sunderland is a dump and we'll be shit by then. Hope that helps. I'm coming to the UK that weekend so bring it on.

What are you like with 1 year olds?

I think it's quite sad that you wouldn't want to be with your grandson on his birthday. Football isn't that important, family is.

You sound like my missues she thinks its out of order i'm going to Forest away on my 3rd childs 2nd birthday

What seems to forget is that I was in court for my 1st borns 2nd birthday ( therefore me going to Forest isn't as bad) and 2 we've never won at Forest !!!!!

I am with him 365 days of the year as him and his parents live in our house,so he might need a break from me.

1st birthdays don't matter either. I mean in the scheme of things.

F... off, first birthday parties aren't for the child, they're for the parents ego.

Family comes first. Always.

Also , you just know if you went to the game we would lose but if you stayed with the family we'd win.
Think about it.

Thats other peoples childrens parties.
As grandparents , its supporting your children who have now entered the world of parenthood.
This is a no brainer.

If it was a party for a 5/6 year-old I'd get it, but come on, does anyone remember anything from their life before the age of 5/6? Go and have a laugh in Sunderland, doesn't mean you love him any less. Also birthdays are just another day, especially to a baby who will spend it gooing and gahing exactly like the previous day.

I have one Grand Daughter, and if my wife or daughter found me conducting polls on FB or asking strangers should i attend her birthday party over going to a poxy game of football. Well.
