Crowd twa ttery at its finest .

Crowd tw@ttery occurs when a fan of one club implies the opposition have poor crowds in relation to their own

You didn't think about it, did you?

Someone on this thread said it would be laughable if Bury took less than 2500 to Spotland. That''s making fun of them/laughing at them in my book.
I find it hypocritical.

Fair point

Either way, I'm not really fussed if we/you take 300 or 3000, but implying if we don't take 75 % or more to an away game in Rochdale off the back of 3 defeats is frankly stupid. After all it's your cup final not ours

Gissa job

What's frankly stupid is implying you're not fussed, in which case why keep responding and banging on about cup finals? You have them, not us, remember?

I'm fussed about our poor crowds, and proud of it.

A surefire way of telling if someone is fussed is them constantly saying they are not fussed.

It's a real shame that we don't fill the place between us for these derby games.

I have heard a couple of people complaining about the cost of admitance, which is baffling for me as the transport costs for most of the crowd are negligible, plus the stand is one of the best away stands in the division.

I even saw somebody saying somewhere that the numbers would be down for the 'dale
game this time because many people were saving their cash for the upcoming date with the winkies ..... What!?

Poor excuses!

i think cost has a huge influence on attendances. Regrettably "SKY" fans who want entertainment , and not the whole day expierence, esp at the top level probably put most "turnstile" money into the game now.

Pre SKY fans, who have seen admission jump from £5-£20/£22 at our level, compared to real wages increase, cant justify every game, unless you fork out for a season ticket.

Only speaking from a home fans point of view, pretty sure, the same argument is one of the reasons, away fan attendance has fallen IMHO in the last 25 years.

Yes you are quite right in saying that the cost of the games are a huge influence on the attendance, and you are very right about the jump in costs compared to wages.

Like virtually everyone else I'm on a budget too, and I have to think about what I spend my cash on, but when I tighten my belt I make sure it doesn't coincide with derby day, even if they come as close together as the Rochdale and bolton games have this season.

Perhaps I'm better organised than I realise?

I'm gonna wait 'til Saturday and see if it's pay on the day. IF it is potd I'm then gonna wait 'til the team sheet comes out and if I don't like what I see I'm going home anyhow.

It's about time the club introduced a 'Second Half for a Tenner' deal. Fans could stay in the pub until we see which way the game is going at half time

Not sure how relevant the printed version of the Rochdale Observer is these days - but my dad still buys them. Just reading the midweek edition at lunchtime today and NOT 1 MENTION OF THE bURY GAME ON SATURDAY! I would have thought it would have made sense for the club to have a backpage advert also? Poor from both parties in my opinion.

Wednesday Observer circulation now down to 9,383 and Saturday down to 11,698. I imagine that people who buy the Wednesday issue also buy the Saturday too, so it's hardly worthwhile producing both papers. My guess is that the Wednesday edition will be gone in 12 months.

If they all saw the ad for the game (which isn't there) we'd have a full house

League one winners elect? One of favs for relegation pre season ( a pre season we wouldn't make it past 😂) all ticket is a joke, 2k Bury I should think, not bad as we are on a 3 game losing streak, I've no ticket yet and not sure if I will bother tbh, missed both at spotty last season, we all know the result 😱

Spot on Didds - for either club to take 75% of their home support to a game anywhere in October, i.e. not in the business end of the season, is impressive. We won't, for the same reason Dale wouldn't if the game were at Gigg - derbies with Dale are like buses, there is always another one along sooner or later.

Add in to that the excessive police presence, schooligans from both sides, and the fact that we have been unbelievably shite in 3 of our last 4 trips to Spotland and I can understand people giving it a miss. Personally I cannot see us getting anything out of Saturday as we will have to score at least twice to do so.

By contrast, when we go to Bolton later on in the season it will be our first league game there (been twice in league cup of course) since a 4-0 shoeing by Eidur Gudjohnsen in 1998. It is something a bit different.

Doesn't sound like a man about to jump ship to me so hopefully we can scotch any such rumours for at least the remainder of this season?
