This was posted on the offy message board by my brother who lives down under, but makes good reading....... So, after our cracking start to the season we seem, by those lofty standards, to have been a bit jittery of late - still in the box seat, but a tad jittery... I have had a look at Newcastle and WBA after 29 games last season and there is some very positive, comparable stats (okay so, it may not set the world alight with it's interestingness). Newcastle 09/10 (after 29 games) W 17, D 8, L 4 F 48 A 20 GD 28, Pts 59 WBA 09/10 (after 29 games) W 16, D8, L5 F 59 A 31 GD 28, Pts56 QPR 10/11 (after 29 games) W 15, D 11, L 3 F 48 A 18 GD 30, Pts 56 Definitely some encouragement and heart to be taken from those figures. It is worth noting (outside of how much time I seem to have on my hands today) that Newcastle did not lose for the remainder of their season from game 30 on, taking 43 points from 17 games. WBA lost 2 of their last 17, taking 35 points from an available 51. We may be looking jittery of late, but we are right up there with the two promoted teams from last season at the same point of the year and you cannot ask for more than that. I guess we can just ask for more of the same.... Come on you Hoops... | |
