I've gota fair few of the Gerry Wolstenholme books on Blackpool.
Cup Kings is particularly recommended, taking the reader through the 53 Cup run. He's also done a number of booklets on particular chapters of our history. The Tour of Australia shows a different world to what we have now, as does the Anglo-Italian one.
On a non-Blackpool theme, "Brilliant Orange" by Simon Kuiper is a history of Dutch football. Well worth a read. |  | | |

Only a game by Eamon Dunphy, charting a season at MIllwall.

The Gordon Hill story in it made Osbourne laugh out loud.
Gordon Hill, the Manchester United left winger of the late 70's early 80's was at Millwall as a young player. United then had Steve Coppell on one wing and Gordon Hill on the other. Good player was Gordon Hill, quite a character too Osbourne would suggest!
Osbourne is currently concocting his top 5 list of Football books and will report back when finalised.

Another shout for The Glory Game by Hunter Davies. He spends a year with Spurs in the early 70's and provides a fascinating insight into all aspects of the club. Includes a chapter on an away day at Coventry which I recall well.
Also Spurs related - In Search of Alan Gilzean - a hero of mine in the late 60's, early 70's who pretty much disappeared and became a recluse, the exact opposite of the money grabbing types we have now. | |

PNENIL-I'll answer the question now that Wizz has flapped about in his Leeds keepnet.
Very entertaining but the Clough family were appalled by it and Johnny Giles sued David Pearce (the author and Hudds Town fan).
Eddie Gray when asked remarked that it should be viewed as a bit of fun but I'd say that Clough probably regretted the way he went about things.Without that however Leeds wouldnt have had Jimmy Armfield and made the ECF in 1975,so looking back Cloughs departure wasnt a bad thing.
Thats the same Jimmy Armfield that should have become Blackpools manager,but the bum spiders like Wizz and Bazbob wanted Harry Potts around that time
