The U's drew 3-3 against Ipswich Town reserves in the Pontin's Combination League this afternoon - our man was at the game.
The first reserve team game at WCHS drew a crowd of about 500 or so supporters for the A12 Derby. Town included Danny Haynes, Pim Balkenstein and Ivan Campo in a strong line-up where most of their side had had first team experience.
United meanwhile only had Cousins, the returning Pat Baldwin, David Perkins and Sunday Akanni-Wasiu who could be named as U's regulars in a youthful looking team.
United took a two nil lead thanks to Mitchell Nelson's header before Sunday bagged one for himself after good work from the former St Albans man.
Town came back in to the game just before the break As Mark Cousin's could only parry Tommy Smith's header and Jordan Rhodes reduced the deficit.
United regained their two goal lead with the best of the game. A silky passing move down the left with O'Leary and Perkins involved before Fabian Batchelor steered his shot past the poorly positioned Shane Supple in the Town goal.
The substitution of Perkins after just over an hour saw Town regain the initiative in midfield with Bowditch scoring with quarter of an hour left.
The U's failed to hang on though as the U's failed to clear the ball and when it was sent back in to the box David Wright diving header sent the ball past Cousins for the equaliser.
