It’s been over a year, but Andy Haines returns to the Crown Oil Arena on Tuesday for Dale’s home fixture against Walsall.
The Tyne & Wear official will make his 23rd appearance at Dale’s home in a refereeing capacity and although we can’t confirm this, we think that is probably a record.
Andy was last at the Crown Oil Arena on the opening day of last season when Dale defeated Peterborough 2-0.
Further back in time, he was the referee in April 2010 on the day Dale clinched promotion from League Two with a 1-0 victory over Northampton.
