Swansea still determined to get Luke Williams over the line Friday, 5th Jan 2024 08:00 by Keith Haynes Swansea City fans will be unhappy this morning that Luke Williams and Ryan Harley are still to be announced as the new partnership to lead the club forwards in 2024. Expectations were that the club would announce the Notts County pairing yesterday afternoon, however compensation talks are taking longer than expected. The plan at Swansea was for an announcement prior to tomorrows FA Cup game against Morecambe at the Swansea.Com (KO 5.30pm ) However that hasn’t been possible to date with talks ongoing. There may well have been a resolution overnight, and as most clubs do - a media announcement, photos and interview have to be carefully planned. However, media and Swansea are hardly on the same page. We can only hope the glitches of yesterday are now fully ironed out and the progress has been made ready for an announcement today, or at the very least tomorrow pre match. This is a huge crossroads in the short career of Andrew Coleman who is the current Swansea City Chairman. He will be judged by the supporters of our club on how this plays out, and most certainly by Jason Levien ( majority share holder ) and CEO of DC Utd. We realise fully the knock backs the club has received over the past month have been hard to take. However, having progressed Luke Williams and Ryan Harley in to a position where they can be appointed we hope this morning the finer detail hasn’t again become an issue. It won’t be the first time. If things go to plan we will see Luke Williams and Harley at the very least in the stands come tomorrow’s game. To think that we won’t will send alarm bells ringing throughout the city and the fanatical Swansea support. Fingers crossed the club is ensuring all is good, all is agreed and the absolute shambles of a season so far isn’t going to be the abiding memory of 2024.
