It’s the Championship. Vast majority of teams don’t have the personnel available so form ebbs and flows around injuries. It does feel like we might have finally gone some way to address that. First time in years I’m not terrified by what we bring on from the subs bench. |

For perspective, to reach the play offs, we need just above 2 points a game. In other words, champions form for the remaining 26 games, the sort of points to games ratio we last managed around 1983. In short, it’s not going to happen. |

The only good thing I could say about the ref was he brought that first half to an abrupt end. |

We were thinking exactly the same. Varane quietly gets on with his game, gone are the rash challenges, learning fast on the job. Feel a lot less reliant on Colback now. |

The stand ins are starting to shape up like first teamers just as the first teamers are getting fit again! |

Played very well and all the stuff already said about him. Don’t think this should disguise the club that we still need another CF. Frey has spent most of 2024 injured, no reason to expect otherwise going forward. Celar had been dreadful and only shown signs of life in the last two games. Vaguely recall a player, Dean Neal possibly, scoring two in his first game and that was that. Not suggesting that will happen with Kolli, he has looked ok out wide here and there, but I imagine Norwich were as blindsided as we were when Kolli went straight up front. Don’t believe this was some master plan from the manager, we were literally out of centre forwards. He did look good and made runs a CF should be making, but defences will get used to him and without options we can run back into trouble again. |

An absolute class act as a player and undoubtedly a big influence on those playing alongside him. |

Givens stayed after the team broke up. He went through a rough patch but the stick was distinctly unfair given he’d been brilliant for us from when he signed. |

Micky Leach was biggest turnaround. Used to get terrible abuse but just kept plugging away. Fans started to fully appreciate his contribution when despite being our best side ever, it often needed dragging up by its bootlaces and he was the man. Recall he got the biggest testimonial attendance ever, it might well still stand, at the end of his career here. Tragically died young but one of my favourite ever players. |

And a corner up the other end if a player impedes the keeper from releasing the ball. 8 seconds doesn’t sound very long, they spend longer on throw ins . |

Son in laws flying back today, but I’ll sound out whether he’s still in the vicinity. 😂 |

He should be in it. Not concerned how many games he played, what he did was play an important part in a position we desperately needed someone like him. Part of the renaissance and deserves his place. |

Sat reading this I just got a WhatsApp from my son in law, in the Cheers bar, just round the corner. |

And yet… over four months into the season and he has singularly only, played the one pass, twice in fact, that kicks our dormant centre forward into life. Two exquisite passes that an abundance of midfielders ahead of him seem simply unable to recognise or play despite 18 games of huffing and puffing. He’s not had the best start but that level of vision shouldn’t be discarded easily. |

Definitely our best performance this season, first time I’ve thought maybe we can still belong in this league. I’d say our best performances have been Palace, Sunderland and Watford. What that seems to suggest is, come at us and the whole team will give you a game, sit back and the entire team are clueless. Given the overwhelming numbers that form the latter in this league, unless Marti can train that into them, we will be in trouble. |

How did it originate, did it start after his second at Cardiff or a sort of reference to his escapades in the first 19 games? I’m hoping it’s not butchered from a chant at another club (especially ‘them’), just I haven’t the foggiest. |
