It was a perfect storm combination of a large and growing injury list and several new players having to find their feet too fast in a totally different league/country that caused the downturn in performances and results. But I feel we've turned that corner now. Varane, Morrison and Saito looking really good. Nardi superb of course. Madsen not so much, but there's a bit of breathing space now and he's a quality player I think. Great to see Ilias back. Still some wobbly areas, like left back, but four clean sheets in a row... that's fantastic. Oh and Marti was always a class act, but he just had a tough few months trying to sort all this out. But as we know, form is temporary, class is permanent. [Post edited 12 Dec 0:13]

The Thames through Oxford is indeed gorgeous, Ted. I've swum in it many times. :) |

You gotta feel sorry for Oxford fans. They look weak. Only just promoted, but they haven't stepped up and they must be nailed on to go back down to div 1. It's also an interesting contrast to, and a sign of relative progress, to compare us now to that friendly we played against them under GA last year - and vice versa. |

Interesting observation DMM... I wonder if that's happened before? It's got to be pretty rare. On a different note, I like this headline: Sam has a Field day for QPR. |

Almost impossible choice as both have something special about them: Celar's both feature beautiful technique, they are gorgeous goals, plus the added drama of them being - at last - his first goals for us; Kolli's have the wonderful exuberance of a 19-year-old seizing his chance with both hands and scoring his first goals - and they were both excellent goals. So for that reason, Kolli just shades it for me. Nice dilemmma to have! |

Do I remember correctly that in a game (or maybe two) last season, where Marti played him as a sub, he was brilliant and turned the game/s? And maybe it was also the moment we turned the corner. |

Out of interest I looked at these accounts; the one attributed to you is filled with really poisonous stuff. I thought bluesky was meant to be all sweetness and light? |

My friends were at that gig and they indeed walked out. Said Costello was awful; out of tune, totally unengaged, painful to listen to. They actually asked for their money back. |

Just making sure I'm up to date with recent posts: I have not moved to Bluesky, so obviously I am not decent. Nor have I ever been to a gym, or Chester. However (switching threads), I do like black pudding. And if I haven't said it in this thread already: people who cycle on the pavement: utter, utter cants. |
