| Forum Thread | The Dale Cooperative at 12:09 4 Jan 2024
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rochdale_Society_of_Equitable_Pioneers As happened in our town over 175 years ago, is this now what our beloved club needs? A group of like minded people to buy then donate a small amount of shares or their share holding into one pot to create ‘The Dale Cooperative? We have a vast amount of expertise in our fanbase and a willingness to help improve our clubs finances and between us we need to figure out a way to make this happen. I’d see this as a fund raising arm of the football club, to assist the club where possible, but to also be able to step in should the worst happen. I would hope that the Cooperative could work with the BoD and Dale Trust for the benefit of the club, but also to gain enough shares to help to protect our club, then to have a bigger say in the future of our club. The Trust do wonderful things, but I feel that we now need something more to help them save our club. Also on a separate thread I saw how it was suggested that opening the club less may help, my personal opinion is that we need to do the exact opposite, we need the clubs various facilities to be utilised everyday. We do however need to reduce our staff costs, maybe the cooperative would take over the club shop/lotteries and refreshment kiosks. My final thought which would perhaps help us recreate the successful Stockport model of getting people into the ground (fill the Wilbutts), is linked to some kind fans offering to pay more for a season ticket, would the club consider offering a community season for say £25/50 where fans could buy one of these and they would pay for free tickets for the community/school kids/local teams etc? I’m sure the more articulate of you and those with more business acumen could expand on these thoughts/ideas, I just think we need to try something and would happily do what I can to help. |
| Forum Thread | Planning for D day v Waiting for D day! at 19:45 30 Jul 2023
With the developments over the last few days (even perhaps the last few years), I have never benn more certain than within the next few years, we will be asking our wonderful Dale Trust, to take over our beloved Dale. I suppose the question that I am asking is, do we wait for this, or can we plan for this? If fans could commit even £10/week, could this money be banked for ‘D day’ or would it have to be earmarked for shares? As the major shareholder in the club, I would hope that some sort of ‘emergency fund’, could be built. The comfort of ‘The Rochdale Division’, ‘A well run community club’ and now ‘we own our own ground’ is all sadly about to disappear. I’ll, contribute what I can, but would like to know the best difference that I can make. Neville Neville somehow convinced Forever Bury to give their shares to their ‘saviour’ Stewie Day! I am not a shareholder, I could have done much better supporting our Trust, but will pledge to do so, especially with regard to The Trust running our club. [Post edited 30 Jul 2023 19:47]

| Forum Thread | Relagation Clause at 13:12 3 Mar 2019
As most players have a relegation clause in their contracts, will Hill have the same? I feel that most fans accept that we are gong down and with our current squad, Fergie in his pomp couldn't keep us up. With that in mind do we sit tight and hope that one of the following happens :- 1) Someone comes in for Hill during the summer. 2) Hill regains his mojo and turns it around in L2 as Lowe has at Bury. 3) If his wage is reduced because of relegation, wait until Pre Season and pay him off then? I think we'd all love to get our Hilly back, but if he is now broken, do we just wait and see what the next few months bring? |
| Forum Thread | Conspiracy Unfolding....... at 19:46 2 Jan 2019
1) The board wanted to sack Hill, Dunphy wouldn't allow this under his Chairmanship, so has gone. 2) Hill knows of the wishes of the new board via Dunphy and a deal has been stuck that if Hill raises/Cuts from the remainder of this seasons budget £400,000 this January, he will be paid off in full. 3) No worthwhile training is currently taking place as the atmosphere at the club is so toxic. So at present, the payoffometer is at :- AC - £150,000 BM - £ 30,000 SH - £ 40,000 Watch this space on :- DP - £60,000 AW - Pay off half of his remaining contract £30,000 CA - £40,000 So that would leave about £50,000 left to find in January. Makes absolute sense, Hilly gets the pay off he deserves, no financial burden to the club, the new manager has room to shape shift the rest of the squad. Can anyone come up with a better one :-) |
| Forum Thread | Next Years Relegation Struggle....... at 09:24 12 Apr 2018
So this morning a KH interview on Rev 96.2 was saying how if we stay up this year, we will be in a relegation battle next season! This along with the punching above our weight comments, Tuesday being a 'free hit' and constant reference to our budget, do you think the players are being a ready made excuse? At no point this season has KH taken any responsibility for the position we are in and has shown blatant paranoia in calling out a specific fan and during pie-gate. This is a genuine question, does it inspire anybody and I am at a lost to work out what KH is trying to gain from these comments or is it just self preservation? I cant imagine KH does any person scouting at games and has a pretty nice 9 til 1 job, Graham Barrow, Paul Simpson, John Coleman or Steve Eyre could have served up what we have seen for most of this season, so when (if ever) do you think KH will be pulled up for this uninspiring clap trap? Do I think KH should be sacked, absolutely not, do I want to hear a rally cry of how mistakes have been made and what the plan is to at least try and improve next season, a massive YES. Come on Hilly, come out and be honest, do you not like the job anymore, are you fed up because no other club would touch you with a barge pole? I can get moaned at for free at home, you are taking the joy out of watching Dale. |

Opening tomorrow night in The Old Post Office building. Very tidy place, mixture of The Mighty Medicine cask ales and the usual tipple. Most unique toilets in the world! Nice to see a new hostelry open in Rochdale and I well worth a visit. |

Do you think our club will stop hating its fans? I cant think of many other clubs that would have given the manager so little stick after such a garbage league campaign. The sacked in the morning rant. Cant be arsed opening late or Saturday to allow fans to buy tickets. Most expensive coach prices in the town to go to Wembley. The new club catch phrase 'Don't come back'. This isn't a moan, I am genuinely interest in the current marketing strategy of the club? Is home fan revenue so insignificant now that its to much trouble to bother? |

Did any of our loyal band of fans expect us to win today? Massive things being done off the pitch. Great signing Matty Done. But surely we cant go another season of Jim/Canavan? Totally expected a 2-0 defeat today. For all the initiatives we're so friggin predictable. |

It looks like having a new ground hasn't helped FC United to much. The anti debt club look to secure an overdraft to help pay mounting debts. Crowds drop by over 700 (are you watching Mr Day). Slowly but surely the club have compromised what it initially stood for and has just become another football club. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38115196 |

Seen us play against in the current FL? Friendly matches do count. I ended up with a disappointing Eleven. Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Chelsea, Toon, Sunderland, Villa, Derby, Ipswich, Reading and Millwall. Have we played all of these teams TVOS? |
| Forum Thread | Kill or be killed! at 19:15 6 Dec 2015
For me today, the pre-match interviews, the team talk, the tactics could have simply been, let's do this for the fans. Give it our all, get beat, absolutely no problem. Beat bury, could have been the beginning of the end for Day and his wrong doings which our manager 'Hates'. Flicker probably two games from the sack? What will probably happen is that bury get Man U away and alls well at Giggle. The interviews, the tv embassessment (again) and the way we played meant nothing to anybody apart from the fans! This and the 'we don't want the play offs quote' is why we could only attract 2500 fans today. I'm obviously emotionally unstable, but trust me, today is a major turning point in our History. Why do our club hate the fans? |

Possibility of 3 out and 3 in after this weeks 'bounce game v Burnley'. Who do you reckon the 3 could be? |
| Forum Thread | Atmosphere at 02:05 12 Apr 2015
I know that it had been done to death about improving the atmosphere at Spotland. Two thousand of us aren't going to turn it into the San Siro any time soon. Perhaps showing our appreciation for a fab season is the way forward? When we achieved our joint highest finish a few years ago, the applause at then end of the last home game went down really well. To take the pressure off the team, to show our appreciation and to just give the lads a lift, could we start from the kick off a period of applause? I'm sure there are many on here who could articulate this better and make it more poiniant, and indeed make it happen :-) Just a thought :-) |

Great to see Lanky bounce back to Division One at the first attempt as Champions. Been a really good year on and off the pitch for Lanky. Happy Days |

After a tricky start, I feel September gives us some very winnable games. Nine or ten points should see us in the top seven. I reckon that we'll get 10 points, what does everyone else think? Todays a tough one to call and the only bet that I am having today is the game to have over 2.5 goals which will hopefully see us win! |

| Forum Thread | Stevie T on GMR today. at 19:32 10 Aug 2013
It was really good to hear,Steve Taylor, who was probably my first Dale hero on the radio today. Really glad that he's back in football and coaching youngsters (even though its with the BIFFO's) after he seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth. He spoke very highly of his time at Dale and of Ronnie Moore who older Daley's will remember partnered him when he got his golden boot. I can still remember him equalising at Scunny late on (rebound after his penalty was saved I think), listening to the FA Cup draw on the coach on the way home and the joy of getting Man U. Spotland seemed packed for the replay although I think the official crowd was 5400 ish, oh and Ronnie Moore's winner! Great times, even during an otherwise baron era. |
| Forum Thread | Old Trafford Test Match at 10:35 28 Jul 2013
I reckon this could see the Aussies grab a draw. Chance of rain all five days, which is typical after the last few weeks we've had. Goes to show, that you can make the ground look great, but cant change the Manchester weather. Both teams have won 7 and drawn 14 at OT. So i've put a sneaky £20 dabs on the draw at 15/8. What do you guys reckon for the 3rd test? |
