I was having this conversation yesterday and I think most football clubs have a famous or semi famous fan in the music business , the Premier League is easy so lets start with the Championship Watford - Elton John Sheffield united - Paul Heaton

| Forum Thread | Pubs Near Premier League Football Clubs at 08:36 25 Jan 2025
We are ranked 16th with 4, but whoever is doing the counting has missed a few, the article says the nearest is the Chapel Arms 0-4 miles away, but google maps has it at 0.3 and that is from the Ted Bates statue. The nearest is probably the reopened Engineers arms, there is also the Prince of Wales, then there is Browns on the corner of William Street near Shamrock Quay and also the bar at Shamrock Quay. The Kingsland Tavern is also well below the mile mark. At 0-9 miles is Yates on the High street and that is from the Ted Bates statue, so is nearer than that from the Northam End and if that is the case there will be another 6-8 pubs or so next to Yates who qualify. The Grapes in Oxford street is 0-9 miles so that brings into play at least 4 other pubs as is Canute Road & Ocean Village so maybe 3 down there The Alexandra is also 0.9 miles and the Cricketers is 1-1 from the Ted Bates statue, so would be under a mile from the Northam/Kingsland corner, so perhaps another 3 or 4 pubs in London road and Carlton crescent. as well as The Lion in Bedford Place. Applying the nearest point of st Mary's stadium would also bring in to play the likes of the Red Lion & standing order on the high street and perhaps the Platform Tavern So I would say that there are at least 30 pubs within range of 1 mile from St Mary's, this would take Southampton into the top 4 clubs, but probably the rest of the list is as badly researched as we were. https://www.givemesport.com/premier-league-clubs-pubs/?link_source=ta_first_comm |

| Forum Thread | Denis Law at 09:03 22 Jan 2025
I was very sad to hear of his death, played in the first Saints match I saw live, January 15th at the Dell in the FA Cup 3rd round against Man Utd, exactly 53 years and 1 week ago today. Back then 30,190 packed the Dell for a 1-1 draw, United had Denis Law, George Best & Bobby Charlton in the side, so understandably they were still a big draw. Mind you Saints had Mick Channon, Ron Davies & Terry Paine, so we had our own Holy Trinity on show Law & Best didn't score but Bobby Charlton did in a 1-1 draw Law's career started before i was born and was at it's peak before I watched my first match, but he was a genuine legend who crossed the divide of all football fans, even those that didn't support the teams he played for. |
| Forum Thread | 5 Things About Nottingham Forest at 12:48 21 Jan 2025
1, The Mullof Kintyre thing at the start of each half is impressive, but the support dies a bid at times during the game. 2, Why do they market it as "The World Famous City Ground" it's not even in the City and not even in Nottingham to be pedantic, I have never seen it as World Famous. 3. Why were the Forest fans so nasty, most of their songs seemed to be aimed at us either going down with Leicester or saying hello to Derby for them. 4. Car parks seemed to be in short supply, but you could park near the ground and loads of cars seemed to be parked on the pavement and double yellow lines without getting a ticket. 5. As I said it isn't even in Nottingham it is in the town of West Bridgford which is a seperate unitary authority than Nottingham |

Singing "We hate Nottingham Forest etc, a staple for all football supporters bar Forest in the 70's & 80's it seems to have died out at some stage, good to hear it being sung again |

Forest just gone 1-0 up at home to Liverpool |
| Forum Thread | Leicester City at 14:48 14 Jan 2025
I wonder how Leicester City fans view King Power now, early on they worked wonders and won the Premier League, the death of the main man in 2018 didn't change much initially, but in the last few years they have run a similar path to us and could easily go down again with us |
| Forum Thread | Tickets On General Sale For Bournemouth Game at 10:58 14 Jan 2025
Ok there is still a month to go till the game itself but it seems that there is around 2,000 tickets still left for this game, seems like the floating support is giving up |

Norwich are charging £10 for the visit of Brighton at the weekend, Brentford £15 for their game against Plymouth, Ipswich V Bristol Rovers £10, shows that Saints are overpriced |
