QPR v Oxfoooooord match thread
at 17:31 9 Dec 2024

With us three-down from the first leg, we really need to score early to get the skidders under them.

Clearly Byrne and Bannister didn’t work last time out, and we've sadly lost Messrs. McDonald, James, and Robinson in the intervening 28 years, but I get the feeling they're up for it. Crowd will be important.

4-0 Rs.

Milk Cup is coming home. Finally!

I Think

I've had a £100 on us to finish 17th every year since 1983.

Consequently, I've two mortgage free properties, drive a DB7, and retired at 43! As you can imagine, the outcome of Faurlingate was 'disappointing', especially after I recommend a points deduction to drop us 16 places.

It's not Canadian. It's Quebecois!

Mrs. PH forewarned before I tried it, so not surprised to find it to be awful slop, which just ends up soggying the fries and clogs your arteries.

They're in it because we didn't take up our place.

It's one thing fielding weakened teams. it's another not bothering to enter!

GEORGE GRISTWOOD RIP
at 09:25 5 Dec 2024

George's funeral procession just drove past my house.

As you'd expect for one of our own, I saluted with a beer in hand and a QPR shirt on my back.

Go well George, we'll send you off proud.

Someone on here kicked off about the same phrase, and asked if there was such a thing as 'late doors?'

I couldn't resist and replied: 'Jim Morrison!'

UB40 at Hammersmith Apollo last night
at 09:00 4 Dec 2024

Last year Bob Dylan came to the music festival in my town. I wasn't bothered to get a ticket, but a mate had a spare one, so off I go. Well, there's €90 and 90 minutes of my life I'm not getting back this side of the rapture!

Not one song from his back catalogue of what are some belters. Not. One! In their place, he sang in that miserable tone and he sat behind a piano and aside of saying thanks, bye, and off he goes. Zero engagement with the crowd and an utterly dire.

Exiting the venue, all you coukd hear were people berating him and the whole miserable experience.

As for UB40, how you can go from 'Earth Die Screaming' and 'One in Ten' to the shite they went on to pump out and not be embarrassed or arrested, I'll never know.

TV Tech question ?
at 05:48 4 Dec 2024

I know some call it LFW or Loft For Words however, I winder if we'd be better off calling it Loftipediia?

I've had access to knowledge on an array of topics that I genuinely believe rivals anything on t'internet. Which again makes me ask: wouldn't we be better off doing away with all the QPR stuff?

Not if he's retired. However, I'd be surprised if there wasn't some cash used to nudge him on his way.

I've been fortunate to visit and travel there a couple of times, and worked for a Japanese organisation for a while. Can't praise the place and people highly enough.

Got into sumo during lockdown, and right into it now. I'm planning on going to a bashio for my next significantly numbered birthday in 2026. The respect shown to the sport, referees, and opponents is exemplary and I just wish the same was shown in football!

I had a hotel room with one of those toilets that looked like something designed by NASA. Switched the heated seat on at the same time as the butt flush.

Couldn't seem to turn them off and nearly got third-degree burns, and each time I got up due to the searing heat from the seat, water sprayed everywhere. I eventually plucked up the courage to hit a red button, which turned everything off and not alert the front desk. Arse, burnt to a crisp!!

Great country to travel round, folks ridiculously friendly!
