Southampton At Aston Villa The Verdict
at 16:29:03

The only time Sports Republic might panic about the fans turning, is at season ticket renewal time.
Until then I get the feeling they couldn’t care less.

It sounds like you've reached the end of your tether Nick with the naivety being displayed by the manager. He should have gone after Wolves.

Southampton Owners Admit Mistakes Were Made
at 17:36:22

I’m afraid I’m past the point of them asking me to have some faith in them. They’ve got every major decision hopelessly wrong in the past 12 months. I honestly think anyone of us could have done better.
I won’t be blindly putting my hand in my pocket just because they’ve gone mea culpa.
Actions this summer will speak louder than words and the rumoured new manager doesn’t make me think I’ll be seeing anything other than more of the same.
I’d rather stick my nose in a pencil sharpener than sign up for another season of that.

New Era Begins At Southampton Football Club
at 13:25:18

I think a complete reset is needed. Including and starting with Ralph. The majority of fans now appear to have lost faith and patience with him. I don’t agree with waisting another summer transfer window on him. No point giving him until October and then if it’s still not going well, binning him off then.

As for some of the dead wood in the team. How long have Djenepo and Mo got left on their contracts? Is the Stephens renewal a done deal?
McCarthy…for this reason alone, Ralph should go. He clearly rates him. For the life of me, I don’t see what I’m missing here. I’m not alone either. But it looks like we’re stuck with him and Ralph.

Still Plenty Of Tickets Left For West Ham FA Cup Tie
at 09:49:23

Giving this a swerve, been to lots of games recently (home and away). For those who don’t live in Southampton, midweek games with all the travel issues of trains and traffic for a game that’s on tv -it’s more about that than the ticket cost.

On This Day In History 27th April 1996 - Battle In Bolton
at 12:50:45

As Pat said, it was certainly very lively at the final whistle and immediately afterwards. I remember coins and cigarette lighters being chucked into the Saints fans where I was stood in the corner. Stayed up in Blackpool that night with the London Saints. Great weekend.

Regardless of how much our players miss Rohl, for them to try and offer this up as some form of an excuse or reason for Fridays gutless performance is astonishing..

Saturday's Attendance Was Poor
at 13:03:03

I went to the Shrewsbury game along with my eldest son who's been a few times now this season and it was dire, when I said about going along to this one he said he wanted to watch our local team (Farnborough) playing at home on the same day, ticket prices/where he was sitting didn't affect his thought process only what was served up in his last couple of visits down there. I think attendances at FA cup games as a whole will drop this season, as someone else said the recesssion may offically be over but many people have less money left after the bills are paid and are picking and choosing their games now, Does Cheltenham at home or Brighton in an important league game make for a difficult choice when money is tight? I would've gone if he'd choosen saints and I'm going along for the Brentford game (alone) but the attractiveness of a match and its importance really does hold sway for people Nick.
