OK, far more forceful than I believed, only having seen the other clip. FA right, I was wrong |

There was one point in the first half where they played round our, err, press, got the right back in acres of space....and he immediately passed it backwards. No self-belief at all in them, they look done. |

The marking for Field's first was so bad it actually annoyed me once the jubilation had abated |

It's not going to affect your lot, anyway...😃 |

I completely deny this. I have no connection to this man. Any further questions can be put to my lawyers. [Post edited 12 Dec 6:46]

I'm quite surprised the fa looked at this again, it didn't seem that unusual to me, albeit a cowards move. If the ref had booked him at the time, would that have been it? Fischer's foul should have been a red, and I detest fouls where the player is shoved into the stands/hoardings. I'd like to see a clamp down on those. |

Sorry, but statements like this are just meant as debate stoppers. I haven't got a football coaching badge - what gives me the right to question any football manager? Should we all meekly agree with Neil Ferguson in the future? The scientists should never be questioned, right? I agree with many green initiatives and in Britain becoming sustainable in power creation, but question everything. Oil companies aren't the only ones motivated by ££££ |

We don't like to be a burden, as has been brought up in another subject recently...😃 This passivity, tolerance, whatever, has both positive and negative aspects, I suppose. It also depends where you are in the food chain. |

What channel is that on, Brian? Mind you, I enjoyed the book so much, and the mental pictures it created, that I'm not sure I should try and watch a televised version! |

The honest answer to increased flooding is that there are a number of causes, both natural and man-made. We are in an era of increased rainfall. We are creating more and more impermeable surfaces - buildings, roads, etc. We are building on flood plains. Agricultural techniques have changed. Environmental management of water courses can also accentuate flooding. Some of these things we can definitely control... I think I'll add that while I have some scepticism about the causes of aspects of climate change, I want less pollutants in this world and more flora and fauna, so do support some, if not all, green initiatives. While watching the money trail. [Post edited 6 Dec 20:17]

In the Isle of Man, we call it chips, cheese 'n gravy because we're not effete, and we use proper cheddar and not tasteless curds. And we pay our taxes. In fact, every year we celebrate our unofficial national dish on the last Monday in January. How much culture can one small island have? [Post edited 6 Dec 17:44]

I was just listening to a podcast about civilisational collapse across the Mediterranean 3000 yrs ago caused by a 300 year drought ( there were fluctuations in that time). [Post edited 6 Dec 10:01]

We used to meet up in Moriarties on match days, a pub in the Baker Street underground station. Loved that place, but no toilets was a drawback. You'd have QPR, Chelsea, Arsenal, Millwall, West Ham in there, happily drinking together, in the 80's. No Spurs though, a rule which was rigidly, and occasionally violently, enforced. I think the no smoking in the underground rules did for it in the end. We moved to the Wallce Head pub, in the lanes behind the globe - full of chelsea, and best avoided (The Globe). The Wallace Heads guv was famously bad tempered. I remember being first in on new years day. He's unlocking as I come in. 'Morning Norman. Happy new year!' Brandished newspaper in front of my face. 'See this? 60 year old woman giving birth? She'll be dead before he's 10'. Was in the area with my wife this year, and we went to the Wallace museum (Sigh. I preferred the 80's). I now know what the Wallace head is. |
