Cardiff City v Swansea City : Match day thread 19:24 - Jan 13 with 25183 viewsModeratorC

For the first time in years and as we will show with the Swans domination of this fixture over a decade it could well be the odds are now even.

Cardiff City v Swansea City : Match day thread on 16:10 - Jan 18 by Landore_Jack

Swansea head coach Luke Williams:

"I feel very disappointed that we started the game fine and then the performances just evaporate, fall off the edge of a cliff. That's really upsetting, really worrying. I believe it's the occasion.

"We have failed to perform at a consistent level but today, the stark change in our performance from probably half an hour in, we started to lose a grip of the game, we started to give away a lot of corners and free-kicks and then we suffered so badly.

"So many players suffered so badly and got worse as the game went on… I imagine it's a lot of to do with the atmosphere. I think the opposition could feel that and did a brilliant job to heap pressure on us when we felt weak."

If the last three games are anything to go by, we are consistency personified.

I stayed out of this today, I thought this whole scenario was hiughly likely given our recent performances and how LW has behaved.

Seems to me we just need rid of him, tonight. We cannot move on or hope to improve while he remains.

The next manager/coach will choose his own captain which may or may not be Grimes, hooefully not.

The very fact that I am not hurt or upset at today shows the damage that has been done.

Big decision for the new owners , what to do , stick or spin,

As it looks atm to me we may end up in a dog fight near the end of the season, but then again footballs a funny game, but lets be honest this season needs to be a rebuild one, whether thats on the pitch or off it, or maybe both.

Three away games this month.

Conceded ten scored none.

That’s a really concerning stat. Three of the 10 were against a poor PL team, the other 7 against poor Championship teams.
There’s a real possibility the club may lose the next 2 games too, 1 out of 15 points. 🙈

We’ve faced similar atmospheres - the team just don’t believe in his methods any more. He’s clutching at straws with these excuses.

got back about 1 hour ago. Where do we start. I'm not going to lay all the blame on Luke Williams. After 8 years of selling any quality we had and replacing with much lesser quality has taken its toll, then to cap it all fetching in Paul Watson in to do a job well above his level. Money has been spent under his tenure but spent badly on poor players. I think he must have fetched in around 12/15 players and where are most of them out on loan because they are not good enough.

Well I didn’t see that coming folks, although plenty of you did….all I can say is I know exactly how you feel and it’s not great. We haven’t beaten you back to back home since 1985…….

Not seen a manager so out of his depth ever, it's genuinely scary how inept he is. He has to be gone before the weekend is over. Let's get a fresh coach in who can energise the players and the crowd. This guy is human tramadol.

Well deserved Benny, we were in it for 25/30 mins after that we wondered around in the wilderness.

Just got back.

The second half performance was unacceptable.

Not much else to say where the opposition were average at best.

A big week ahead.

Nearly 5,000 away fans at three games this month. Lost them all, conceded ten scored none.

And Luke again doesn’t address the Jack Army in the right way.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Quite a few left after the third goal.

The fans who were at the end were angry with Luke and the players.

I have no confidence in the team against Sheffield United - who are by far a much better outfit than Cardiff.
Brewster to score?

Highlight of my day today was watching a re-run of Pau v Ospreys on S4C who won an excellent game 31-28 Jac Morg's outstanding again,

The local Derby today and not an attempt on target, as I remember? a shocking performance. They showed a stat at half time and Cullen playing up front, as he shouldn’t have been, touched the ball on 3 occasions….dreadful.

The most worrying stat for me today Rog was Sky showing us as 24th in the league for 2nd half performances.
Did I read that right?
Surely not.
If so what does that say about Luke Williams' half time team talks?

Yes, I believe that’s right, didn’t make good reading. I find it amazing how we’ve gone downhill so fast, confidence must be at an all time low.

The first half performance against QPR was outstanding.
That was only Boxing Day.
Yes, an incredible downward spiral in just 3 weeks or so.

I was wondering about the appointment of Mark Jones as coach with more than a little trepidation- he seems to be doing all the right things. The side look much more energized and dynamic and not so much ball up the jumper. The final try was a joy to watch. Some good new backs in the side - if we could copy Cardiff Blues creativity we’d be a very dangerous side indeed.

Going to the Arms Park , losing a man before half time and drawing (though we should have won) showed a definite change.
