Thanks for posting. I never understood why Warnock signed the sewer rat. He went right down in my estimations when he did. It’s not like the rat was that great a player.

If i remember correctly, the club were after Scott Parker, but for reasons i cannot remember couldn't get him. Fernandes then offered to get Barton, and with time running out and the desperation to bring experienced top flight and big names players which is what Fernandes wanted, Warnock agreed.

Wasn't Diof the "sewer rat"? Warnock went on to sign him later...
Barton was just a massive bell end and very average footballer from what I saw
