Why aren’t the younger ones doing something now ffs .Too bloody nice down here that’s the problem. Many other clubs fans would have got this arrogant idiot ousted by now.

Poll: Would you take an Fa Cup win if it meant relegation to the championship ?

I think fans are beyond angry and upset.
We are now being humiliated.
Chelsea left Jackson on the bench and Villa had Watkins on the bench at the start, teams are not even playing their best players against us.
Of course we are poor in some departments but we could do so much better with better coaching, tactics and team selection.
The fans are hurt at the moment, fans I meet and talk to give each other a cold stare when we say what do you think of Saints at the moment?
I personally have never felt so disillusioned,we need a change and NOW.

The board will take notice if they see people protesting against the manager whilst at the moment they are being given an easy ride there’s a few boos at the end and that’s it everyone goes home and then next game sing a bit but not much and then go home again.

We’re all hurting grumps but many of us are in our 60’s even older, been there done that so to speak. The modern football fans today just aren’t that bothered, it’s so different from the 70’s and 80’s. Many Fans today just want to take photos and sit in silence.

At the Dell it was like family,if you hurt them you would soon regret it.
I think fans now just cant believe what they are seeing and that the owners are doing nothing about it.

The Saints fans are numb. After the joy of last season, it's like "here we go again. We knew the joy would be short lived and back to the misery". There is also a nagging feeling that RM gave us the joy if Wembley and he was part of us being here.

However, I agree with you. Our fans are far too passive. I feel that the owners and board are ultimately responsible and need to be protested against. Two relegations in three years!!! And we are just going to accept this and do nothing??? They will start getting twitchy at least if they see fan unrest. Respect has to be earned. They are just taking the p!ss out of us, because they think.our fans are so mild and weak that they can do what they like.

Boycott the Tottenham game.
But if you go, unfurl a banner saying

ANKERSEN OUT
MARTIN OUT

Do it. If we don't we're going to look so weak as a group of fans. This humiliation has gone on long enough.

A few empty seats will just indicate apathy.

The way Newcastle fans got rid of Pardew was to turn up at every game, home and away, and protest en masse. We saw them in action at St Mary's.

But, the situation is probably more complex than we think. I expect Martin would like to bale out now, but he won't resign as he'd lose millions. So, he's hoping SR will sack him, but they can't afford to do that, at least not until January, as it might take us over the expenditure limit for the current 2-year period, as dictated by the FFP regulations. Even if they could afford to pay Martin off, the wage demands of a top manager coming into a dire situation like ours, would be enormous.

The youngsters are too busy taking selfies, sniffing coke and having bantz to be angry, it’s up to us oldies to get the bearded c()nt out and his pickled herring munching mate.

I also think he’ll go in January. The countdown to his departure will be more exciting for me than the Christmas one. When he finally goes I’m having a party.

You cannot reason a person out of something they were not reasoned into.

I had a group of young adult Tarquins behind me near the front of the away end yesterday who spent most of the game on their mobiles checking out scores from other games, and talking about their courses at University.

It is all so terribly middle-class these days.

Back in the day there always used to large groups of workers that used to go together, school friends went together. Today it seems that all that has disappeared and fans are more interested in looking at the phones or facetiming someone and saying look at me !!

I'm not sure that's right about the FFP regulations.

We would just carry on paying Brent on gardening leave until he takes another job, we wouldn't be paying the £12 million (or whatever it is) in one hit.

I’ve never understood the belief that we have to pay contracts up in full. There will be break clauses inserted in them. If there isn’t I’d be astounded.

I'm not sure either, Pat. It's just stuff I've read on the internet and the people who wrote it may know no more than I do. (The bit about top managers wanting enormous wages I just made up myself). Their agents are probably phoning St Mary's as I write, saying their clients would happily work for free to be the next one in the line of great managers like Nathan Jones and Russell Martin.

There is a cheap option.
Get rid of Martin & appoint Adam Lallana as interim coach until the end the season.
Lallana has got far more experience of what is required in Premier Lge.
We know we're going down regardless of who is manager/ Coach but let's at least go down fighting.
Lallana could not do any worse than Martin.
In fact I don't think I could do any worse than Martin.

I have a few lads who would love to go to away games but they put so much dependany on having been to shed loads of away matches that by the time it comes to us they have all gone so you never get to build up the requirement.

I’m not sure Lallana would be any more popular with the fans than Brent.

I think Lallana as player / manager is a good call. Clubs often get a big lift when a team mate takes over and all the pressure is released.

At the dell we had an us against them mentality, at times that was used to take on the bigger clubs, at other times that was used to take on our own.

There was a lot more pride in being sotonian and the club was a football club but also an extension of our city and us, and like f*ck would we let anyone mock that.

These days football is a past time, entertainment or hobby to many, and the loud voices of the nippers have no connection or knowledge of the city, and view it as a football club.

So they get annoyed about results and their outlet is a podcast or video, that’s easy for the club to dismiss, and those people are easy to buy off with marketing and access.

Someone like Nick or on the march were willing to get banned, or attract press and hate to make the club better, our new “influencers” are pacified by getting closer.

Sadly I don’t think the nippers have the boll*cks to actually be unpopular, and even view it as a bad thing.

There is some very true words there, frannie.
For fear of looking back and I know we have to move on.
I remember the Dell as a family, cross the fans and you cross the family.
In those days fans would mix at games and socialise after,
The Top Rank, Pier and clubs and pubs.
We knew we would never be considered a big club and we didn’t care because playing on our ground you were in for a fight.
The Saints way is to go forward not sideways.
Who could ever forget Channon,Ball, Armstrong, Williams, even going back Davies, Chivers and Paine?
The way we play is NOT the Saints way.

Yup spot on, we knew who we were, and when people called us ale house brawlers, or struggling Southampton, or said we were an unpopular club it just made us double down and get into them harder.

Now we have nippers saying we’re bigger than Everton, or acting like we have a right to play football a certain way

We’ve gone soft, and need to get back to the f*ck you attitude we had in the past.
