I checked his stats and was surprised to see he had 38 appearances and 4 goals for the Rs including 20+ games in the Championship before doing his ACL in training. Not the worst of the Redknapp carpetbaggers.

Better than 5 minutes and off with a chipped-fingernail Kieron Dyer. Admittedly he was pre-Redknapp. At least I think he was.

He was.

I actually liked him, his injury record was horrific but genuine unlike some recent powder puff loans we've had.

Good grief

No inkling of ever been disciplined before

He has been a bit of a tit and it's said to have been a photo without his top on to two colleagues.

I have to say, I occasionally flirt with colleagues, not pictures of me with my top off, the world's not ready for that, but getting sacked from all his roles at the BBC.

What kind of sh*t show is going on there.

It's not been said he has been having a full blown affair and even if he was, it's never great to cheat but it's not a crime or a sackable offence.

He has sent some strange ways of flirting which were not wanted.

So ten years of service ended because of it.

Yet Huw Edwards paid fortunes to a vulnerable young girl for nude pics and then viewed graphic child porn and they paid him £200k during the interim.

Joining up the dots, this logic is outstanding.

You can see that the powers that be at the BBC have extremely impressive ways of thinking and their decision making is outstanding......

He didn’t apparently (according to him anyway). Sign of the times I guess but to get the boot seems harsh even nowadays. If the women were far more junior then you probably would be lucky not to get sacked in the real world but when it’s consenting adults (again his words) it still feels a bit much.

The consenting adults bit does seem odd. The obvious question is, if they were consenting, Jermaine, why have they complained? Perhaps they weren’t as keen as you assumed. I wonder if by using the word “consenting”, even if inaccurately, he’s doing it to make clear he’s not a nonce. Just a bit of a sex pest.

Err no it doesn't.

It's not worthy of a sacking. A quiet talking to, and everything can get back to normal.

So you know enough detail here to a make that call when the people that do actually know have decided it does warrant the sack (both the BBC and his agency). This is walking and talking like multiple counts of sexual harassment. But there's always someone ready to side with the harasser rather than, you know, just believing people who have made the complaints.

Quite.

They were probably attractive women, wearing tight clothing, Kensal. Can’t blame him.

I get the whole “innocent until guilty” but if those privy to the details (BBC and his agency) seem willing to drop him immediately, let’s perhaps assume he’s in the wrong and not the recipients of whatever he has sent them. It’s not hard. The world hasn’t gone mad. Bloke behaves like a dick and gets found out. Maybe accept it for what it is? Not an arrestable offence but he hasn’t been arrested. The career impact is his problem. He deserves no sympathy.

Definitely trying to differentiate from Huw Edward’s - I think he’s meant to say all parties were above the age of consent…

The trouble with flirting is that you usually don't know it's 'not wanted' until you start doing it, and even then the dynamics can, and do, change thereafter, of course - all of which seems to be lost on the virtue-signalling crowd these days, who think desire is just some kind of on/off, black/white binary.

Personally, and though I hold no specific brief for him and his Peter Pan chops, I think Jenas should go on talking to his lawyers.

And because of comments like his, victims of harassment and more serious sexual harassment will not come forward... Because what's the point when all they get is a 'quiet talking to'

Harassment is many many messages over a long period

It has been said , it was only a couple but to two women of which only one reported it.

All was saying is that what he did was weird and wrong. Very odd in my book to be sending a top less picture of himself to two colleagues and arrogant but sexual harassment.

In general that particular charge , I would put at unwarranted touching etc and persistent messaging of which some was in appropriate.

Am speaking as an older person, back in my parents day, my mum would say it's just how men were ie pinching someone s bum was normal. In my time too, it was more liberal.

These days it's considered an offence.

If its not warranted then definitely people need to be aware but only one complained and this has therefore been halted which is good

I was questioning the offence of sackable offence, particularly after they been so lenient to a known paedophile to them , which was way worse.

It's a weird world today, where if you brush too close to someone they can accuse you of unwanted attention but you can free of charge see all kinds of debauchery online that is legal.

And then this bloke sends a top less picture of himself which is weird and wrong but people saying it's serious when the man has been an idiot, but from my experience it's not sackable

From personal experience working for a small charity, the chief went with two of the staff, they got away with everything and wages were increased, the structure was all wrong and none of us could complain and we all needed our jobs so we all said nothing and he got away with everything

This is nowhere near the same level. But I have been told off for trivialising it. But am speaking from personal experience of things a lot worse and all I highlighted was the BBC so lenient on Huw Edwards and paying him shed loads, whilst making Jenas a convenient scapegoat for the crap decisions in their past.

Nowhere did I say I agreed with what he did. Just saying they could have dealt with this in a much fairer way.

But it's all turned out OK because Jenas won't be the successor to Lineker on MOTD...

Probably now be someone squeaky clean. Joey Barton, he has quite a clean record and is a fine upstanding individual so I am led to believe !!! 😂

This is ridiculous though that it's front page news. Storm in a tea cup is the phrase.

But these days everything is magnified way beyond what it should be.

The world today is completely mad !!!!

No it's not. Harassment can be as simple as committing a behaviour twice - once is bad, twice is harassment.

It has been said , it was only a couple but to two women of which ONLY one reported it.
So because ONLY one reported it and it was ONLY two women it doesn't matter?

All was saying is that what he did was weird and wrong. Very odd in my book to be sending a top less picture of himself to two colleagues and arrogant but sexual harassment.
Yes, it is. If the messages sent were unwarranted that's still sexual harassment.

In general that particular charge , I would put at unwarranted touching etc and persistent messaging of which some was in appropriate.
See above - a repeated message is harassment.

Am speaking as an older person, back in my parents day, my mum would say it's just how men were ie pinching someone s bum was normal. In my time too, it was more liberal.
Back in my Mum's day the local nonces could go around sexually assaulting schoolgirls and get away with it because 'it's how men were'. That doesn't make it right or acceptable.

These days it's considered an offence.
Because it is.

If its not warranted then definitely people need to be aware but only one complained and this has therefore been halted which is good
Agreed.

I was questioning the offence of sackable offence, particularly after they been so lenient to a known paedophile to them , which was way worse.
I'd suggest the employer is holding themselves to a higher standard now following previous events and it is almost guaranteed he's in breach of contract. If not, he has the right to challenge it via employment law.

It's a weird world today, where if you brush too close to someone they can accuse you of unwanted attention but you can free of charge see all kinds of debauchery online that is legal.
You say a weird world, I say a normal world. I have managed to get 55+ years on this earth without having done that.

And then this bloke sends a top less picture of himself which is weird and wrong but people saying it's serious when the man has been an idiot, but from my experience it's not sackable
See above - contractual

From personal experience working for a small charity, the chief went with two of the staff, they got away with everything and wages were increased, the structure was all wrong and none of us could complain and we all needed our jobs so we all said nothing and he got away with everything
Whistleblowing legislation was brought in for this purpose.

As above - contract and higher standard

Nowhere did I say I agreed with what he did. Just saying they could have dealt with this in a much fairer way.
If he has harassed someone and is in breach of his contract, why is it unfair?

But it's all turned out OK because Jenas won't be the successor to Lineker on MOTD...
Agreed

Probably now be someone squeaky clean. Joey Barton, he has quite a clean record and is a fine upstanding individual so I am led to believe !!! 😂
Irony

This is ridiculous though that it's front page news. Storm in a tea cup is the phrase.
It will be forgotten by the general public soon enough. It might even be acknowledged and forgotten by Jenas should he keep his family and another job. When will the victims of harassment forget it?

But these days everything is magnified way beyond what it should be.
Behaviour like this SHOULD be magnified and shown to be unacceptable.

The world today is completely mad !!!!
Or sane.

Common sense and reality are rarely in evidence. Everything is a MAJOR issue.
Things which have an impact on the personal live of abused women SHOULD be major.

The mobile phone generation is one that's removing the ability to be human....
The mobile phone has just publicised the behaviour which has been around for centuries and men (because it is) don't like being held up to new standards.
