What could happen this week? 17:31 - Aug 28 with 17676 viewsichbinnaughty

I know the messages coming from the club via GA are that no further business will happen, but with Premier League squads being (panic) refined as a few crumbs falling off the table for skint Championship clubs to pick on, surely there might be a couple of surprises this week?
A striker, hopefully; and the whereabouts of Tim Iroegnebum (sp.) has been deafeningly silent so far this window so unless I missed him going somewhere I wonder if there’s a chance he might come back again. A midfield trio of Tim + Field + Colback would be decent.

I really wouldn’t have a problem with Chris Martin returning. He scored some important goals to help us stay up and unlike others he didn’t get injured. As a sub, given our lack of experienced forwards I’d have him back in the absence of any other options.

Never knowingly right.

Sorry, Bosh, but I don't see that.

He'd slow our game up so much. The last few games we've had a huge turnaround based on toughness and numbers at the back buy with enough mobility to support a very mobile front three on the counter.

Can't see where he fits into that.

I did wonder whether he might be a Matt Smith-type Plan B but I'm just not a fan of the hoof-and-hope Plan B in the last ten minutes. After all, if that worked, why wouldn't teams try it from the start?

That's almost as old as the joke. And not quite as old as the Remy play off final joke.

Not wanting to brag too much but no transfers out nor in and Trent Rendall out on loan from Dev Squad.. As suggested.

I tell you what is a joke. The fact we've never dug down to increase capacity at Loftus Road.

Especially as somewhere down there, Peter Odemwhingie is still tunnelling out in the hope of joining us and doing half the job for us!

Good window for me. Didn't lose chair or field or dare I say willock. Hopefully the latter realises that he needs to knuckle down and play

Soooo , no couple of old fivers found down the back of the sofa to get us even a traffic cone we can put up front when needs must ? It’s not like we have had no warning this past couple of weeks of what happens when dykes and Sinclair are unavailable is it,
I get we have no money so I am convinced we will be looking to bring Martin back this week ? Not totally against the idea as long as we don’t do as we did before and drop everything , give him the armband and see him starting every week !
Other than that we need dykes to become the prolific goal scorer he never has been , someone to stick a bag of viagra up willocks jacksy and Sinclair to start finding the net more regularly

I think overall we've had a very productive and positive window, especially with the "ins".

Smyth, Cook, Fox and Colback, from what I've seen, have all fitted in and found their place and form almost immediately which is exactly what we needed

And Begovich, while taking some undeserved, typically early doors slack, was still a good get under the circumstances, imo.

Imaginé the team without those 5 and what they bring to the party!

I also think that getting these on two year rather than one year deals will also actually work in our favour, assuming that they all stay fit.

We've been crying out for a solid, reliable spine for God knows how long. Looks like we might finally have it, which will slow the revolving door marked "Players Out" considerably over the next few windows and should mean we get much more consitsent performances.

I see Fankaty Dabo signed for Forest Green Rovers yesterday after being released by Coventry.
A competent enough right back with 100+ appearances for Coventry and three year’s Championship experience.
Is surely going to be on a very low wage at FGR: would’ve been a good option for us and an upgrade on Kakay or Drewe.

Agreed. Given the perilous state we’re clearly in, I can’t see that the club could have done any better. All good players, all improve the team/squad in areas where we were weakest. Age has had to be the compromise which, although far from ideal, I think is the right compromise to make. We have to do whatever we can keep this ship afloat. It’ll be touch and go, we’ll be relying on other teams being worse again, points deductions, and nursing a thin, ageing squad through a long season but, as has been said, if GA can pull it off, it’ll be right up there with the biggest achievements of the last 30 years.
