When it’s your day – Report on 22:26 - Aug 20 with 7055 views | colinallcars | Great stuff Clive - I thank you. I love the bit about the white dogshit - for years I was daft enough to think it was from a certain type of dog, until I discovered via LFW, I think, that it was down to diet. Nonetheless, a fine report and a glimmer of hope.
When it’s your day – Report on 22:38 - Aug 20 with 6994 views | daveB | you could tell on 60/65 minutes our race was run and it was a case of hoping they don't score but 3rd time this week I've quite enjoyed watching us play, both with and without the ball we were a lot better and performance was miles better than any of the home games I've seen in 2023 We need more additions up front and in midfield but if we get those right I think we'll be OK

When it’s your day – Report on 08:14 - Aug 21 with 6171 views | Dorse | At least Dom had the good manners and, dare I say it, class not to torch his spotless reputation by taking part. They say his Ipswich shirt is really hooped, only with the white hoops replaced with blue ones.

When it’s your day – Report on 09:03 - Aug 21 with 5950 views | stevec | Great stuff, the Ainsworth paragraph killed me and the Chair lob wonderfully described. Luongo had probably the best game I’ve seen from him. Think that was down to the space he had in the first fifteen and the last thirty odd minutes. The sort of performance we’d only really seen from him against equally inadequate sides as us at present. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

When it’s your day – Report on 09:40 - Aug 21 with 5810 views | Antti_Heinola | Great stuff thanks Clive. I was waitiong for the tube after the game and a few Ipswich fans were singing Luongo's name, and a QPR fan near me scoffed, saying he was rubbish for us and anonymous today. Says a lot, I think. Luongo wasn't and isn't a world beater, but he'd walk into our team. I couldn't believe Ossie missed that chance, but I have to say, on watching the replays, it canons off a defender onto him. I thought he'd just stuck it wide off the cross, but in this case, I think comparisons with Hugill are (just) a little bit unfair. I think two little moves involving Dix-Bon down underneath us showed some real promise as well. Great feet, couple of good crosses, signs of driving at the oppo. Absolutely love Kolli's attitude. Hope we get to see more of him.

It's waaaay OTT and needs cutting back A LOT but I was sick of it last night and just thought publish it and forget about it. Of course I'm miserable about it this morning, but that's ok because if it wasn't that I'd find something else to be miserable about instead. Onto the next.

I think we under-rated him when he was at QPR. In any decent team, there is a midfield player who has to deal unrelentingly with the less glamorous, messy stuff. He did that well.
When it’s your day – Report on 10:05 - Aug 21 with 5702 views | EastR | We deserved something from that game, a draw would have been a fair result. We lost our forward momentum with the Willock sub at half time, combined with the Armstrong and Field changes and us running out of steam. Its amazing what the introduction of a bit of pace and youthful energy can do for the whole dynamic – we’ve got a couple of youngsters there who can do a job for us when called upon. Play like that we’ll be fine and have something to be happy to turn up and watch.

"Onto the next." That'll be Southampton then, they've got two Armstrongs we've got one Armstrong, that silly fact has nothing to do with anything really.

It's an epic and I'm glad you published it in all it's unedited glory. Couple of observations. I have been surprised at how well Fox has played in the last two league matches. That penality appeal we had, early in the game was interesting. The assistant, who was stood right in front of me, stood his ground around level with the penalty spot and had lots to say in a conversation through his mic, presumably with Geoff. They seemed to consider it fairly seriously before moving on. Shoot out for the Box Office and Ben. I sent an email explaining that after a hip operation, I am currently on crutches. I believed I would struggle to get up all the steps to my usual seat in F block. Ben promptly replied and offered two seats in the second row of the West Paddock. Gratefully accepted.

I agree and was sorry to see him leave us. I remember one game at Villa where we lost 1-0 but he was superb. Definitely a good midfield player in there but just didn’t perform at that level consistently enough.

They also had David Armstrong in the 80s of course. Another Armstrong to add to the silly mix.

When it’s your day – Report on 10:33 - Aug 21 with 5544 views | terryb | Thanks Clive. For the first time since moving here in 1974, I've not been depressed when we've lost to Ipswich! We far exceeded my expectations in our performance & I'm even more convinced now that we will find 3 (probably more) teams that are worse than us. Wednesday, Cardiff, Rotherham, Huddersfield & Millwall certainly come to mind. Best of luck to you & all the other fans going to Southampton. I'm a little concerned that we appear to have sold so many tickets for the game. We know what happens when we have mass numbers! The 500 of you at 'boro might be in for a great afternoon though!

When it’s your day – Report on 11:27 - Aug 21 with 5291 views | Blue_Castello | Excellent one of your best, I think the majority of us came away from the ground thinking what an improvement on last season, I genuinely think if he had been able to keep Willock, Sinclair and Field on for longer we could have won, the obvious big issue at the moment is the fitness, once that can be improved and a couple of additions to the bench, we have a real chance to at least compete in every game. Totally agree about the Ipswich squad, I've got an interest because we have family up there and have heard all about their progress, Morsy, Chaplin and Burns I think we're Paul Cook signings but Cook wasn't getting anywhere with his style so they went for the young unproven quantity in McKenna, not unlike us going for the Pot Bellied Snake, they struck lucky we didn't. McKenna has done a fantastic job, given them a style and identity, gradually brought in his own signings Broadhead from Everton, Hirst from Leicester, amazed they let him go for £1.5 million, that's the same price we paid for Washington, Luongo was a free agent in January if I remember correctly, always rated him and McKenna is a good judge of a player. The defence has become quite a strong unit with players from the Academy or players they have picked up with some smart transfer dealings, after watching them again on Saturday I don't think there anything special BUT it's the teamwork and the way McKenna has them working for each other that's getting the results, I'm secretly hoping for the reality check which must be around the corner waiting for them.

Very amusing. And there was even something about a football match.
