Well, not really, we were always going to have to sign full backs this summer, with Wallace, odebajo and McCullum gone. It's probably the opposite - he can get the players he think will work there, and we don't have to worry about getting rid of anyone.

Thanks but I was being fasches.....fasce...faceshis....

I was trying to be funny

Am I to believe from all the videos/interviews etc that Steven Gerrard is basically a figurehead at Villa (and Rangers before?) - deals with the media, attracts young players who grew up idolising him and lets Michael Beale and Gary McAllister do all the actual management work?

Poll: Moses Odubajo - Stick or Twist?

What a journey he’s made. Ten days ago I’d never heard of him. And now …

Very harsh. Gerrard gets all the front of house stuff, including recruitment and media. But leaves most of the day to day training to trusted coaches. I'm sure he'd be present at training sessions and putting in his two pence worth.

Yes, me too. I've got all these video clips saved up.

Perhaps they are delaying the announcement as they don't wish to take the limelight from The Jubilee
