Hornets on Sunday 19:31 - Feb 24 with 299587 views | EllDale | They’re tweeting that their “matchday operations” are being restricted for the home game against Barrow on Sunday for reasons that they don’t want to divulge at the moment. The bottom line is that the crowd capacity is limited to 920 and there will be no cash admissions on the day. Wonder what that’s all about?
Hornets on Sunday on 11:54 - Sep 1 with 4913 views | HullDale | I'm not sure if its the responsibility of our social media team, press team or legal team, but I hope we are keeping a watchful eye on any accounts linked to the rugby club. Some of the messaging and comments from the official Keighley Cougars accounts are probably bordering on being actionable by us... lots of rhetoric such as 'due to capacity limitations being enforced by the football club...' Mazey has gone quiet, Kerr has disappeared, they are collecting spare change to keep the lights on, and the online rhetoric about needing a new place to play is gathering pace. People like that Chris Price, who used to claim to be a Dale fan, are not doing them any favours either. Its all a mess, but also probably part of Mazey's end game. [Post edited 1 Sep 2022 11:56]

And less than 200 sat in the mainstand last week. Mazey seems to have presided over a period of significant decline.
Hornets on Sunday on 10:27 - Sep 4 with 4316 views | HullDale | The more you look into it, the more it appears to be a conscious managed decline of the existing club, with repeated deflection attempts and whataboutery in the press from the higher ups. - Continuously low crowds, seemingly dropping week on week - Scattergun recruitment approach - Sacking a popular manager over the phone - Poor discipline and rumours of discontent in the squad - Bucket collections to keep the lights on in the same week as... - ...Unable to field a full squad of players - No sign of a new retail outlet that was promised in July (despite claims of this as a significant revenue driver) - Multiple broken promises dating back to late 2020 The list goes on and on - during which time Hornets fans are either disengaging completely from the club or lapping up everything Mazey says on social media. Its a mess, its bury-esque and I genuinely fear for their future.

I don’t. After the way some of their fans have behaved on social media without actually knowing the facts they can crash and burn for me.

The RL community is a relatively small one, if Hornets fans need to know anything about the current board & their previous form they need only ask their counterparts at Swinton. Or believe the bullish!t. Their choice.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, they need to be careful about the ongoing narrative here. If they aren't filling the lower capacity (900?) then how would a higher capacity with more associated costs bring them more revenue? Its easy to point at Dale & say we are causing their financial troubles, but it is simply not true.

It's hugely disappointing that they have trotted out that narrative. How many times has the 920 seat capacity been reached this season?

Unless it is categorically true, they are also skating on very thin 'libel by innuendo' ice - suggestions such as the ones currently being trotted out are clearly damaging to the reputation & finances of RAFC.

No shame have they. Why can't they be honest and just say that they are in the doggies doo dar because nobody is turning up to support us. Last week there were less than 200 sat in the stand - that is the real truth and no club can survive on such crowds - even if you don't have the cost of running a stadium. Its all very sad, but also very desperate.

There's an interesting story on their message board that Hornets were originally going to name four players from their community team in the squad but were advised that this wasn’t possible.

Hornets on Sunday on 11:09 - Sep 5 with 2904 views | pioneer | I wonder if they will be fined for not naming a full 17 player squad. Cannot understand it - they could have included three 'injured' players as subs and not used them (if they were truly injured). But then in the unlikely event that they won I suppose he would have had to pay out three more win bonuses. I think it is unprecented for the club to not name a full team for a league or cup game. He is certainly setting some records that mr mazey. There is the old story, that back in the old days they once signed a player with no legs! He was the brother of the plyer they intended to sign who had lost both legs in the war but they got the first name wrong! Who knows with Hornets, maybe its true. At least he could have sat on the bench on Sunday. For the true hornets fans I do hope somebody is able and willing to buy him out and send him on his way back to leigh.

The guy is floundering all over the place... and as for the 'famous Hornets support' he mentioned...
This website has asked a genuine question and been met with a wall of silence:
& their star player is kicking off with fans & sponsors on twitter...
if BigDoug appears near a Spotland drainpipe with a pair of handcuffs, its time to worry.

Seems some of their players are as "classy" as the chairman, insulting and threatening your own fans more so the one that sponsors you doesn't generally end too well.... that's what comes with employing such clowns in any sport. Chase has been an absolute lemon all his career so no real surprise its just a continuation of the norm.
