John Eustace decides not to join the swans as the new manager on 15:14 - Jul 25 with 3270 views | cymrojack | Totally understandable decision from Eustace. Family reasons and being at a good club who appear very much on an upward tradjectory. Andy Scott has previous managerial experience, more so than Eustace. The merits of Osian Roberts being offered a managerial role at the club have been discussed at length by many on other threads. Welcoming Cameron Toshack back to the club would also make an awful lot of sense given his excellent work in the past. Of course, with a bit of vision from Winter, a combination of all three could provide initial stability for the club and allow us to build for the future once more.

And they are both Welsh which by the looks of your username would suit. Personally could not give a toss what country the manager comes from. Just want the best candidate.

I don't blame Cooper for jumping ship, obviously Eustace has realised why Cooper made that decision. Tate for manager, god help us.

Interesting, would have thought that side of things would have been looked at and taken into consideration before offering him the job. Some times its better the devil you know plus with a better contract and likely pay rise thrown in!

Shouldn't we have made Eustace sign something to make sure he was serious about coming!? QPR could have done us up like a kipper here.

Better he signed nothing if he didn't want to come here. Last thing we would want is another manager who did not want to be here.
John Eustace decides not to join the swans as the new manager on 17:41 - Jul 25 with 2265 views | DwightYorkeSuperstar | I'm more concerned with how Julian Winter has overseen this situation. It has been an absolute disaster and left us with no manager less than two weeks before the start of the new season. It reflects very poorly on his ability to perform his role to an acceptable standard and I hope local journalists attempt to hold him to account. Perhaps now Stuart McDonald is gone, the SCST Supporter's Director can put pressure on the club's management.

John Eustace decides not to join the swans as the new manager on 17:42 - Jul 25 with 2261 views | onehunglow | Those who reckon we are well run etc needs their heads examining. We are an utter sick joke of a club that has seen massive money disappear down the plub hole. We offer the chap a job and he turns it down.Rare these days . Our owners have done nowt positive at all for the club. Nothing, apart from see us stagnate and drift from being a decent PL club. We need shot of them YET But, all will be sweet again after the Trust win their case in Court. That'll really make us even more attractive to manage or to own. We are freewheeling into oblivion right now.

Well yea but a fortnight ago when this was apparently sorted, if he wouldn't sign anything, we'd know it's time to move onto the next one. Lets see if Winter's up to the job.

John Eustace decides not to join the swans as the new manager on 18:05 - Jul 25 with 2092 views | Ajack_Kerouac | What a bloody shambles. So when we got relegated we sold every senior pro we could, drastically reduced the wage bill, took in tens of millions from transfer fees comparing what we sold to what we bought, promoted every decent prospect in the U23s (who have all done a grand job and helped generate the tens of millions of transfer fees, brought managers in who ended up coveted by Premier clubs (also generating money in the case of Potter) and where are we… - we get no compensation for Cooper - the bloke responsible for that crop of U23s, Cameron Toshack is looked over for the job - an assistant manager who has only ever managed in non league and has no connection to the club or the area turns us down. - all the talented local kids (the future Wales players) are kicked in the bollocks and shown the door - instead we give the opportunity to turn pro to a load of youngsters who have no connection to the club or the region, who couldn’t give 2 shiits about Swansea, who have already had their chance at English clubs and failed. Boat loads of them brought in. - and the talk is that our captain will be soon dodging off for a cut price deal 2 weeks from the start of the season, no manager, soon to be no captain, no roots to Swansea...what was the point in the Academy if we aren’t going to bring our own players through? No season tickets (they expect us to hand over the money without even the promise of being allowed in and yet can’t be bothered to send you a physical ‘ticket’. We are rudderless. ….and yet some seem to think that now Cooper’s gone we are suddenly going to start playing Samba football. We are a joke.

John Eustace decides not to join the swans as the new manager on 18:24 - Jul 25 with 1964 views | jacksfullaces | big problems behind the scenes, we have hung in there for a few seasons with some parachute payments, and some pragmatic (if not inspiring football wise) management of resources and loans...funny how the talk (as with all non title winning clubs) has been of building for the future (3 seasons and counting) but it looks like we have a bit more sinking to do before any real foundations can be laid. we've usually had some redeeming feature, youth set up, astute loan management, a bit of an old hand behind the scenes, a few ex premier players for a dash of panache .. is there anything there at the moment we can cling on as a positive - and by positive, I mean to stop the plummet to the foot of the table? No financial mismangement I guess? At least we have that to be thankful for....

When any club is relegated and has one player on his own drawing out over £4 million a year in salary (plus some other high earners) we aren’t going to be able to splash mega money at promotion. Blame the previous regime for resigning Ayew then getting relegated. FFS

I think it would be the sensible thing to do at this point in time. A team of people who will play our current squad including the many promising youngsters. Let's see what they can do. By playing such an inexperienced team, we may well be relegated - and if that happens - so be it. By appointing Osian and Cameron, the club would also cover itself in the eventuality of the coaching team all suddenly leaving if Cooper was to get another job. Stability is key. Previous regime got us relegated did they ? £4 million is peanuts when you consider the millions we received in transfer payments and the parachute money and you are wrong players are on that amount in the championship and it’s the parachute payments that are supposed to fund existing contracts for relegated clubs. The problem we have is naive people like you who will defend the hedge fund whatever they do, including turning the club into the complete joke it is now. But hey as long as you happy that’s all that matters, enjoy the season. [Post edited 25 Jul 2021 19:20]

. You're absolutely right. An utter shambles of a CEO it seems. Unable to support nor retain one of the very best young managers; shopping in inferior, sub-standard markets (for what we need and are accustomed to); shocking communication with the fan base. Shutting out the Trust (why else would the Trust not be communicating with the fans at this massive watershed moment in the Club's history ?). It's going to be a frostily cold Winter. .

Absolutely agree with you. I weren’t a fan of cooper ball. But he got results and almost took us up. Improved each year. He had 2 good seasons and attracted some good youth for us. It’s quite clear why he left in my opinion. He wanted a bigger job. Why not when we have no money. It’s not rocket science what’s going on. He would of known of this news of Matt grimes leaving for £5m and would of been the final straw. Walking out 2 weeks before the season starts says it all. We got hit massively by pandemic and no cash income from match day. Parachute payments ended. Losing our best players for penny’s. No money to attract any good youth prospects like he have last 2 years. Not a very good attraction to a manager who wants to prove himself. Tough year ahead for who ever takes over.
