be interesting to see if a minutes silence/applause is applied at this weekends fixtures.

I am a monarchist by any definition of the word but the medias coverage is a little over the top with BBC and ITV dedicating an entire evening to the news. There may be an argument for the BBC but not both main channels.

Huge props to Megan. Tracking down Phil the Greek's last horcrux can't have been easy. Diana would be proud.

There isn't an argument for any non-news channel doing it in the era of 24 hour rolling news.

Insanity.

Suffering since 1978.

Fought in WW2.
Started the DofE awards that have given youngsters worldwide opportunity to do things they would never have been able to do normally.

So what if he made some ill advised quips.

A gentleman who loved this country even if he weren't born here.

Also he and Liz shared a great great great grandma (Queen Vic) - they certainly tried to keep a gene pool going...

I remember years ago talking to a Greek chap I worked with that I thought Philip was Greek and was assured he was as much Greek as the queen is English.

No problem, Gloucs.
Take care.

Yeh, good old 'gaffe prone', 'plain speaking' Phil.

Yeah I was sad to see this news. He lived a very dark life. Imagine being forced to smoke crack as a 14 year old kid. Unimaginable circumstances for most of us fortunately.

RIP Dmx.

Downvoted by accident. Sad to hear of his passing although not unexpected with his history.

It's due to both being public service broadcasters so when a major royal dies we switch to rolling news. Been a fun day at work re doing the entire weekend schedules on my day off

Have a look at the stick Channel 4 are getting for returning to normal programming to see why BBC and iTV made that choice
