Routeledge Dyer Narsingh 14:32 - Aug 29 with 7537 views | thornabyswan | All 3 players have indicated they would like to stay. Could any be deployed as a central midfielder or back up striker at a push. [Post edited 29 Aug 2018 14:33]

Routeledge Dyer Narsingh on 20:03 - Aug 29 with 1680 views | Elward | I remember when people said Naughton would do okay in the championship and look how that's turning out. The same will happen to Routledge, if he's given the chance.
Routeledge Dyer Narsingh on 20:10 - Aug 29 with 1661 views | A_Fans_Dad | I seem to remember Clement had Narsingh training to play attacking Mid or Striker, he played a couple of games with the U23s for practice. So he may have a role to play if they don't offload him.

Well he did manage to score 2 goals in 37 appearances for us, but also scored 29 in 163 for PSV. So he does know where the goal is.

The only game naughton has played in the championship was against Leeds and it was by far our best team performance and he played well. Naughton will be an important player this year, Routledge sadly will never be an important player for us again.

Routeledge Dyer Narsingh on 15:10 - Aug 29 by pencoedjack | Can’t see Routs playing as a central midfielder personally, both him & Dyer should never have been given new PL contracts although I agree Dyer could be utilised in the current squad. Narsingh has just been shite |
We changed Mark "I can't outrun Brendan even though he had knackered knees" Gower from a winger to a central midfielder. Don't see why we can't try and do the same with Routs. Please before anyone bites my head off. We're desperate for any sort of depth and options in the squad. Basically when the inevitable injuries and suspensions start, I'd rather have the experience of Routs than the raw energy of an Under 18's player

Why would you try to convert a 33 year old who can't pass or tackle into a central role? What "experience of Routledge" are you trying to capture? He's never been a leader/organiser. Is a couple of weeks practice in midfield going to be of more value than u23s players who have played the role week in week out for years? He's was fcking dire there in preseason.

Routeledge Dyer Narsingh on 19:55 - Aug 29 by swan65split | I think they are trying to get rid/force them out, but as its early yet, and atm not much seems to be happening on the incoming side, I would like them to stay, they may be able to do a job in this league,,,,,,,,and we may need them. |
This may be right. I believe I read on here the club were looking to off load them in an effort to reduce the wage bill and that the players were holding out looking for payments to move, so it may be there is some substance to this. I read about something similar happening in Sunderland where apparently an agent was looking to have a players contract paid up in full before he moved. If they are still here after transfer deadline will the club play them?

Routeledge Dyer Narsingh on 17:36 - Aug 29 by jasper_T | I don't understand people pining for these three when we've got McKay, James and Dhanda all looking promising at a fraction of the price. It was a mistake to give Dyer and Routledge new deals when we did, and an even bigger mistake to hold onto them now when they'd still only be backups to younger, cheaper alternatives. |
I haven't seen anyone suggest any of them should play ahead of the 3 you mentioned, just Asoro who has generally been substandard. The point most are making is that we are threadbare and need more players who won't be coming in so we need to make the best of what we will have on the books when the loan window slams shut. And I don't think anyone is pining for them ffs, we all know we need better.

Probably depends on how we pan out in September, theres a long way to go and some tough games ahead.

Routeledge Dyer Narsingh on 10:26 - Aug 30 with 1193 views | jasonbromham | Wow this thread! All 3 are not good enough, McKay has show more than all 3 of these have in years. Asoro hasn't been great but are people forgetting that he is only 19 years old! Stupid thread Dyer is okay, Routledge is now terrible and Narsingh looks like he is stuck in quick sand 99% of them time. [Post edited 30 Aug 2018 10:26]

Routeledge Dyer Narsingh on 10:45 - Aug 30 with 1153 views | awayjack | Wow - shock that players earning £1.5m + each per annum want to stay because nobody else is stupid enough to pay that much for them. How many good performances have any of them put in on last two seasons? 5 or 6 between the 3 of them? Not good enough even for this league.

Except that for the umpteenth time he let an opponent drift in behind him and score a goal. I watched Naughton closely last year and he is not a good defender. He has absolutely no awareness of what is around him, he doesn't communicate with any other players to warn them of danger etc. At full back he is incapable of stopping crosses coming in. He just sticks out a leg and half turns his back. Yes he had a better game against Leeds but that was as part of a back 3 and he was culpable for the first goal. The only improvement I saw was that he can now throw a ball down the line and not hold onto it for ages with no idea what to do next ala last season.

We didn't play with a back three against Leeds.

Based on last Tuesday's game Byers would be a far better option in midfield.

But he's never been on MotD, mun, how can he possibly be better than a past-it Wayne Routledge playing in an unfamiliar position he's never shown any aptitude for? Byers was starting to break through into Watford's Championship side before they got promoted and spending went through the roof. And he's a lot better than he was when he arrived here (works harder for sure).

Absolutely. One more of the truly awful decisions made at board level that showed no foresight for the future. In fact, if we got relegated we would end up with players at the end of their careers stacking up pension funds with no desire. That is not an attack on our players it is a hard fact of any footballers life.

Routeledge Dyer Narsingh on 12:35 - Aug 30 with 973 views | swanforthemoney | If Dyer rather than Asoro had started against the Worzels we would have beaten them. Simples. Routledge finds the opposition with a pass, or loses the ball in the dribble. Let him go or pay him off. Narsingh might be OK at this level, but Dyer has proved his worth at his level and his loyalty and is well settled here. On this basis, let Narsingh go too.

I don't agree with this. We didn't offer them extensions when we should have been looking to replace them, we offered them extensions 2 years after we should have been looking to replace them.
