That was most definitely not me.

Why does the club, management and now our players feel the need to highlight one or two dissenting voices that come from the main stand during the game. They are in a minority it should be left well alone. Adds to the us and then mentality which is emanating from the club at the moment.

Match thread: Plymouth H on 00:06 - Apr 25 by VivaDonaldo | The ball from the right came on at such a pace Gillam did well to trap it and keep it in the penalty area. He's then off balance and swivelling. Nowhere near as easy a chance as people are making out. I'm also sick of people pleading for Dobre. He loses the ball too often and doesn't track back. Give me Gillam, one of our own, any day. |
I didn't think it was a particularly easy shot to pull off, practicing would make it more likely though. As for Dobre I expect it is mostly down to that impressive goal he scored

This may have been an attempt to smooth over any issues after Hill’s Barrow era comments last night. It highlights how supporters self policed it and the recognition that the majority are behind the team. But yeah, the whole things didn’t need much of a mention. Whoever it was probably feels a bit silly if they were abusive.

Because players and managers are not allowed to tell these fans exactly what they think directly at the time. They have to bite their lips somewhat. Which in a way is a real shame as said dissenting voices would shut up rather quickly if players were allowed to go into the stand and reply directly to their faces. If you are looking for an "us and them" mentality then that already exists. Me and those who abuse players.

Match thread: Plymouth H on 17:44 - Apr 25 with 2257 views | 1907 | I’ll tell you one thing, there isn’t many relegation battled teams that have received such consistent support throughout the season as what this lot have. I’m extremely proud of the way 99.9% of fans have handled themselves this season when you take into consideration some of the dross served up, countless postponed games and numberous digs aimed at the fans from the management. Hill is the only manager in the bottom third to retain his job. Barely anyone has questioned Hill’s position at any point this season. The criticism and the public bashing of the fans has been positively ridiculous, but this does not excuse someone verbally abusing Jim of all people! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Apart from Ardley at Wimbledon. I don't think he has been immune from criticism, but he does have a certain standing based on his playing career there. Also, they are somewhat similar to us in being more concerned about the long term picture and running the club within their means.

Match thread: Plymouth H on 10:05 - Apr 25 by pafcprogs | Frustrating for us and a point won for you....but in reality no individual game costs you play offs....we lost that in the first three months and have no right to be as close as we a re ....and the last few games our limited squad numbers/injuries have caught up with us...and yet three wins and we a re in the play offs so we move on. Glad to see you out of the mire, albeit by slender margins....I hope you can take points off Charlton on the final Saturday All the best for the rest of the season.... PAFCPROGS |
There'll be plenty of worrying about the remaining matches at this end, in spite of last night's point taking us at least temporarily out of the bottom four. Btw, the crowd was a disappointing 2760. I haven't seen a figure for away supporters, but it probably wasn't more than 500. I guess a lot more watched it on the screens at Home Park.

How were they allowed to do that knowing it would have an effect on gate money at our end? What’s to stop every club doing it for midweek games and attendances falling? (I know there’s a 3pm Saturday ban)

539 away fans, which is pretty impressive for a midweek game in Lancashire. Given it was our third home game in a week and the fifth home game in April (none of which we have won), the crowd was as expected.

Thanks for that. On another thread, pfcprogs predicted more away support: "Fan wise I think you will surprised...we have fond memories of winning at Spotland under Sturrock under lights in the promotion season and also most of the tickets were sold before we surrendered so abkjectly on Saturday....not sure how many your away end holds but I'd expect around 1200-1500 there....so not too shabby for a Tuesday night a couple of hundred miles away... " On the question of the match being shown at the Argyle ground, I'd have thought both the Football League and RAFC would have had to agree to it - and that probably some compensation was paid to take account of the loss of revenue.

Sounds like pafcprogs was over-egging his team’s potential support.
