A whole can of worms opening up here. Massive respect to the men who've come out.

Hopefully more will follow, and these abusers can face justice

I attributed the Bristow remarks to the following mindset:

As a method of self-protection, a lot of people have what I would describe as a 'karmic' attitude to suffering. When they hear about something bad happening to someone they are so intent on convincing themselves that they would have avoided the situation that they effectively conclude that the victims have brought misery upon themselves. To preserve their world view they would rather blame the victims than admit that bad things happen to good people.

I've just heard a rumour. Was really hoping we'd avoid this scandal of all scandals, but suspectvery few clubs are wholly innocent judging by the scale of this. Won't say anymore but really hope its not true. Rumours flying around everywhere at the moment and i hope this one has is no more than that. But brace yourselves.

Bare bones.

I doubt they are the only culprit.

Is it possible they committed a crime here by not reporting this to the OB? (Chelsea I mean) or it's board.

Them horrible nonce cnts are everywhere. First offence should be castration and about 10 years prison to reflect and change..
2nd offence should be one behind the ear.

Be careful what information/rumour is brought out here, we don't want Clive to have to squash the thread.

But if the club has not acted upon evidence of crime, I think it should come clean: to vindicate the victims, and to show that the culture has now changed.

The beautiful game: racism, homophobia, sexism, tax-dodging, cheating on the pitch and now widespread covering up of paedophilia... Can someone remind me why I like football?

We do need to be very careful on here. So many rumours flying around. Let's catch these guys and punish them severely but let's not ruin someone's life with false accusations.

I know the Guardian isn't everyone's favourite newspaper, but what it's helped uncover here makes the Telegraph's supposed expose of corruption in football look like the pathetically researched and ill-founded nonsense it was from the beginning.

it's the Daily Mail so bear that in mind but there's a story on there today linking the abuse with our long-running former head scout who left in 2003.
No facts, just rumour so not sure what to make of it as yet.
Not going to link to it but Google it yourself if interested.

Damn.

The club is a business, meant to produce a profit, though it probably never has. We see it as a team, a spirit and a collection of individuals who are part of that dream. Unfortunately it seems we had a snake in our nest.

It is time our Chairman made a statement.

what sort of statement can the chairman make? Until a complaint is actually made they can't do much as the man died 12 years ago

If any of you are in any doubt about Chris Geiler, and if you're on Facebook, go and have a look at what Peter Hucker is saying now on the QPR pride of London group.

If the club put out a statement some will take it to mean that something did actually happen.
Damned if they do and damned if they don't. It's the sort of situation the Mail are always looking to contrive.
John Charles, did you abuse young footballers fifteen years ago ?
