I was going to offer an opinion and it's similar to yours.
An old man using a telescope to spy on a little girl? Goodness me. Why the moon? Why not have him in an old people's home or the old man on the end of ones street and have a twist that way.
Not a patch on last year's penguin. |

The ad itself cost £1m to make, rather than £7m. I think the £7m is because that's how much was spent on advertising the penguin advert last year (plus the cost of making it). So they are saying that John Lewis are looking at spending around £6m on television slots as well as promotion elsewhere. |  |
