Ready made replacements and other lies 16:44 - Feb 14 with 9660 views | Thacks_Rabbits | We have no replacement for Done, never had to start with and its the usual tripe we are fed. In possibly best ever position to get to the championship we will ever have, we flog our best player, to a rival, who then proceeds to score 2 in 2 (so far). The ground saga has dragged on for months, just another distraction to stop us questioning the ambition of the club. No real news and we continue to do things like forget to put the covers on. I heard a rumour that the Commercial Manager job has been offered to someone linked to the council - No qualifications at all but he turned it down. Not saying thats gospel but I can believe it. I applied for the job and sent C.V. but decided not to proceed , when I got a clear copy and paste Email that asked me things that I had already stated in my C.V. Its no wonder we are failing to attract crowds and decent staff, things here are getting beyond a joke, wonder who is accountable. Good luck to Matt Done - 3 in 2 now - he has joined a club that will match his ambition. I would take 20th in table right now!!!!

Ready made replacements and other lies on 00:54 - Feb 15 by D_Alien | We weren't told we were selling Done because the club were offered money we couldn't turn down, the basic fact is that Done was made an offer he couldn't turn down (from a personal and professional point of view) and we couldn't realistically stand in his way. Anyone who thinks we could do that simply doesn't live in the real world. But at least get your facts right before posting. [Post edited 15 Feb 2015 0:59]

Sheff united shouldn't have been given permission to speak to Done had the club not rolled over and accepted their initial enquiry based on a fee that by all accounts is ridiculous for a player bang in form and scoring goals

Ready made replacements and other lies on 06:32 - Feb 15 by TalkingSutty | Losing a couple of games on the spin will always have some pressing for the panic button and that's obviously compounded by us giving up on a play off challenge by selling our main threat to one of our rivals, it's like we've rolled over and had our bellly tickled even though it suited all parties. We don't have coaching badges but my god playing Bunney at left back is almost laughable. Then throw in the mix Henderson being moved to Right Back, O'Connell playing at Left Back and the freezing out of Hery, I would also include Rose playing in midfield at the expense of players like Jamie Allen. As supporters we are entitled to question team selections aren't we,or is that not allowed? It doesn't mean we are right but discussing selection isn't a crime. Unrest within the fan base comes through the lack of communication from within the club. We have a manager who seems to treat the fans with disdain (my opinion) to the point he doesn't see the need to try to explain team selection post match or even try to keep fans updated on the injury situation and the circus with Hery this week made a mockery of the "Team Rochdale" slogan. Would Hill subject Henderson or Dawson to such ridicule, I don't think so. It extends beyond the manager though, we have the Chief Executive insulting the intelligence of the fan base with his recent explanation regarding the postponement of the Orient game. The lack of information regarding the purchasing of the Stadium and the lack of progress on the Commercial front, will we ever employ a professional to oversee that role? Keeping supporters in the dark over transfer fees received also causes unrest and rumours. The BIFFOS worked very hard to earn that nickname, it wasn't just given to them but yesterday they at least managed to put a couple of thousand on their gate by running a well publicised, easy to implement promotion. Every time we try doing something similar there is always a stumbling block put in the way to deter customers. We specialise in shooting ourselves in the foot. So forget the last couple of results because once Hilly stops the tinkering we have enough good players at the club to see the season out. Its not just about the results, it's the lack of communication from the club and the feeling that as a fan we are being mugged off by the club, that's how I feel anyway. Things are about to improve though, Season Ticket renewal time is upon us so expect plenty of communication!! As a supporter/customer do you feel valued by the club or taken for granted and updated on a "need to know" basis ? [Post edited 15 Feb 2015 7:21]

I agree with the communication stuff, we don't seem to get any honesty from the club. From why we can't do on line ticketing to why we don't have decent marketing, to why Bunney goes from being subbed after 15 mins at Northampton to being a left back, to what's the score with Brandy to how much did we get for Done. The list is endless. Just want a bit of honesty, rather than patronising gibberish.

Ready made replacements and other lies on 19:19 - Feb 14 by SuddenLad | If we had crowds of 20,000 plus every home game like they do at Bramall Lane, we wouldn't need to sell players - instead, we would be signing them. MK Dons got 5 million for Dele Ali as and lost 4-2 today at Gillingham. As long as we keep our heads and stay sane we have nothing to worry about Who'd be a Barnsley fan tonight. They'll be playing at Oxford next year if things don't improve. |
Pretty much sums it up for me sudden lad.
Ready made replacements and other lies on 10:53 - Feb 15 with 1576 views | ParkinsGimp | Glad to see a few others can smell the coffee, obviously still a few mongs who will never say or hear anything against our glorious leader and the blind board behind. Kim Jong Hill is by far the best manager we have ever had, but he has a very arrogant streak which is quite distasteful. I know all managers have their favourites, but I can never understand mangers picking players who are clearly not as good as others in the squad...after all its the managers job on the line( not saying Kim Jong Hill is in any danger at all) , but we can all see where we can improve and the two forwards he has brought in are clearly not good enough( Brandy and Andrew) also keeper needs reviewing. I dont expect us to be in the play-offs this season, but expected a good finish at say 9 or 10. Currently I can see us getting sucked into the relegation mire and playing young players out of position will not help the battle. I hope the mindset changes soon. We all want the same thing surely? Definitely dont want a relegation or even a relegation fight.

Completely agree TS It's not contradictory at all to be on board with the longer term plan (football-wise) whilst reserving the right to have a bloody good moan post-match. Trouble is, there are some who ONLY moan, which is wrong and just plain negative Just as Hilly has built up more than enough credit to offset any short-term misjudgements in player selection / tactics, so it goes with fans who praise him to the hilt when we win - those fans are entitled to post their thoughts following defeats too. Of course, anyone's entitled to post what the hell they like, but human nature dictates that building up credit goes a long, long way to offset posting on the debit side! True, but we could have put up more of a fight to keep hold if him. we never stand in anyone's way. As has been said, he's contracted here, I'm sure his head would have been turned, but the club needed to be stronger to try and keep him and see where he could get us. I can't see MD barging the doors down demanding a move, he would still have given his all for the cause, we needed to make our point that we were serious about challenging, just my view like.
