New kit 2014-15 on 22:40 - Jun 4 with 3186 views | Kennedy | The main reason was the club did not want to have a casino/gaming company on their shirts as younger fans could not have the same shirt as their heroes or family. So the club decided to go down another route. Another reason was the club can now have a official gaming partner (sbobet/bet365) which they could not before as 32red was their main sponsor and you not allowed a main gaming sponsor and a different one to be a partner.

New kit 2014-15 on 22:16 - Jun 4 by Newhousemustscore | Just so we can sort out the difference between rumour and fact how much did we spend buying out our remaining year with 32 red. I only ask cos that was reported as £1m. So we spent £1m on buying out 1 contract so we could sign another one at the same amount? |
Sounds like us. Im not sure but i think it cost us 500k to buy out 32 red so we were down to £1,5m on the new deal which only ran for a year . I think 32 red was paying us £1m a year so seemed like alot of hassle for 500k to me . Im not sure if anyone remembers the tweeting by Dineen regarding the "exciting news " and major player sponsor(thank you Darron) helping with stadium development or if i just imagined it ! It seemed to go from alot of hype to bit of a damp squib .

Mock up isnt it ? Ive tried looking on the offical web site for an outline of how much the GWFX deal was worth but no numbers mentioned . So, do we have a new Sponsor or not ? Is it £1,8m ? 200k less than the reported GWF deal ? How can anybody order a shirt if they dont know who the sponsor is ? what if Durex were our new sponsors ! lol I agree with the other posters who said just get it out there let people have a look and then order it ! I remember a few years back when the first i would see of the new kit was a pre-season friendly, if memory serves me well we played Crystal palace at home ,they came on wearing a kit similar to Brazil and we came on wearing a new away kit which was burgundy and dark blue..or was it black with red pin stripe ?? i cant remember now !! Anyway , think i prefer those times where the kit launch was running onto the field wearing it !!
New kit 2014-15 on 23:36 - Jun 4 with 3024 views | UplandsJack | Firstly, I've actually seen some of the shirts that were sent soiled last year.. The original, first batch were soiled on route from manufacturing so adidas by all accounts had to squeeze another production run, but this obviously led to a delay with the home shirts. But, there was also a delay in securing the shirt sponsor as i was told the origially identified company withdrew from the negotiations.... As far as I was aware GWFX only had an option for a second year and I haven't saw/read anywhere that they have agreed an extension. So Phil if you could provide a link to where it states this Id be grateful. Finally, if sponsorship isn't the issue why again the delay in a) releasing official images of the home/away shirts . & b) The release date being put back from end of May to middle of June??? All makes perfect sense to me . Weird how the amount of money spent on the new deal is put about in form of rumour but not the sponsors name , or is it a secret. We do some weird stuff sometimes, unless of course we are still looking for a sponsor! lol

I'm not going hunting for a link because I'm not sure if I've read it somewhere (which I think I have) or whether I was told it (as part of an update at a trust meeting) but GWFX are our sponsors Figures wise. 32Red was not £1m to my recollection but it may have been - GWFX I think is around £1.8m per year - no idea where the post got £2m from but I don't believe it to be true as I am fairly certain this year is bigger than last year. On the DYSS thread on here where he wanted trust statements there is a reply from Leigh stating why the sponsors changed at the start of last season and part of the reason is so that kids can have proper replica shirts and for gaming partners to be secured that increase the commercial income in other parts so overall there is a much bigger picture. It's easy to knock the club for things that they do and contrary to belief sometimes figures don't need to be released on every little thing that is done but the sponsors deal with GWFX is a good one and the reason it was never released early is that with clubs in our position alot of good deals are done on aone year basis as a Championship sponsorship deal is worth just a relatively small fraction of a Premier League one If you want a link, someone else will provide it or you can just choose to go with what I am saying - it's your call but GWFX will be on our shirts come next season. Has there been a delay on the release dates on the shirt? I didn't realise they were coming out at the end of May so I can't answer on that particular one. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
New kit 2014-15 on 07:22 - Jun 5 with 2835 views | Uxbridge | I think part of the confusion is that there hasn't actually been an announcement from the club regarding GWFX renewing, only the ST publicly confirming. Might have missed it though.

You and me I can only remember the 12 month with an option for a second year. Until now I've seen nothing confirming the second year

I don't recall there even being the option announced. May be wrong though. Either way, it's good news of course that the club is increasing the money it's making from such things, and good that the likes of the Trust are making the details public. Hopefully as things seem to be improving in the commercial area of the club that can then spread to the communication part.

New kit 2014-15 on 09:35 - Jun 5 with 2661 views | outtolunch | This is from a previous thread. Leigh Dineen saw the question/comment about 32Red and provided this answer -- I can’t obviously go into too much detail ref the 32red deal buyout but will try my best to shed some light on it. There were 2 reasons why we approached them to ask them to forgo their final year. Firstly the board felt that they didn’t want to have a betting company on the front of shirt any longer. It had been 4 years and children weren’t able to buy proper replicas and also it meant we could look at ‘ betting ‘ as a partnership rather than main sponsor ( exclusivity rights didn’t allow us to have a betting partner as well as main ). In the premier league a betting partnership can have better revenue than say a main sponsor in the championship ( our deal with 32Red was done in the championship ) Secondly we were in the early stages of looking at the stadium expansion and wanted to test the market place. By having the shirt option available made sense plus the naming rights of the stadium only had a few years to run. At no time did we break with 32Red because we had something already lined up. I’m not sure where that came from. We were talking to quite a few interested parties at the time , some construction and some not but none were particularly near completion. The board had decided they wanted to take the risk at the time and in the end it was well founded and one of those we had been talking to came to fruition which was great. You will note that alongside that we now have 2 betting partners which we didn’t have before. The downside of course was that we might not have had a front of shirt at all but we were comfortable with that as part of a long term strategy. We try not to do things on an adhoc short term basis. Hope this helps.

Agreed - a bit of an insult to the fans who want the kit really. Treating us like kids. Just release it already club!

Oh boy! Anyone fancy trying their luck? This is the competition to see the kit first. http://be.swanseacity.net/firstfan/ "If you don’t win, don’t worry! We will select a runner up to win the new replica home shirt for all those who entered. All the best!" So a lucky runner up gets to win the new replica home shirt for all those who entered eh? - meaning every person who enters will get a replica shirt?? ... Promotion/Commercial team can't even get this right!

New kit 2014-15 on 08:33 - Jun 6 with 1782 views | UplandsJack | Phil, as a trust representative please inform the board that this year in, year out big build up to release the following years kit just doesn't get anyone excited and infact has the completely opposite effect. I can understand them doing it for the Centenary kit but not every year... Please advice Dineen & Co. that we the fans, would just prefer a straight forward release of images early like clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool etc and then they can have a competition to win one or whatever they want during June/ early July. Finally, I like most will probably end up buying both but not till I've had a chance to see what I'm actually buying... But this buy before you've even seen the shirts is just plain silly....
