At present we have too many Championship quality players in our squad. For next season, whoever is the manager, we need a new goalkeeper, right back, two energetic defensive midfielders who can also get in the opposing box, a winger with real pace and another striker who can score goals at Premier League level. At centre back, Amat has developed over the season and hopefully Bartley could emerge in pre-season as another Caulker, maybe better. Chico can still give the team a lot of energy and aggression but must discipline himself or be sidelined. At left back Ben was very good until Christmas but dropped off in 2014, perhaps because of fatigue. Shelvey's inconsistency is frustrating, but he's a match-winner that I'd always include. And don't sell Boney, not for £30 million! |  |
