Gutted to hear this. I fckin loved Bob Hoskins. Roger Rabbit, Long Good Friday, Hook. One of my all time favourite actors... Pleased to hear he went peacefully and with his family though.

You've not lived if you haven't seen Bob Hoskins playing General Noriega in "Noriega: God's favourite". He WAS that Panamanian dictator. Watching it, you completely forgot that Bob was from Finsbury Park (except for the bits where he forgot he was meant to be doing a Pan-Latino accent and sounded exactly like one of my uncles). RIP big man.
I remember seeing him first many years ago in an adult learning programme (On The Move) - heck of a career followed those early days

that's right, he played the one who had the learning difficulties, sure we used to watch anything that was on in those days. Don't think the other guy had such an illustrious career but think I saw him in a few things. Didn't remember the music was by the dooleys though!

The other guy was Donald Gee who was in a load of stuff including Dr.Who and Coronation Street.
Remember' Pennies from Heaven' I didnt quite 'get' it but being 13 at the time I was hooked after the lipstick on the nipples scene
I liked that one as well (think Steve Martin was in another version I've seen). Dennis Potter seemed to have a thing about lipstick and a bit of smut from what I've watched
One of my favourite actors. Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Long Good Friday, Mona Lisa were great films as was the TV series Pennies From Heaven which got him noticed.
