Exactly. He scored plenty of goals earlier in the season yet perpetually found himself dumped back onto the bench. With Michu out Laudrup has little option but to play him every game and now we're seeing the results in his own performance. One of the Dane's more baffling tactical choices this season. Had he not run Michu into the ground we might not have lost him for as long as we have. With the two of them playing off each other we'd have more chance of picking up points. It was the equivalent of going into a boxing match with one hand tied behind your back.

Trundle better than Bony. F*ck. My. Eyes

Just this once, Warwick, I'll agree with you. And re my previous post, I do wonder if Lamah would be performing better if he started regularly too? It may be a coincidence, or I may just be wrong, but Bony seems to score more when Roly is on the pitch.

There's no real debate to be had regarding Trundle and Bony though, surely. Different levels innit

Nah Trundle would do a job now see mush... Whilst he was a hell of a player for us in our rise, Jason Scotland topped him for goal scoring exploits. He didn't run around like Schecter either...

Our Wilfried. on 01:02 - Jan 21 by Catullus | Not just some!! Latchford was our best in my opinion. But big Bob got far better service from better wide men back then. Leighton May be a crap pundit/manager/journo but he was a fine winger!! If Bony got that service I think he'd soon cruise past Latch. |
This. Big Bob for me, but that could have been purely down to the service he received. Could you imagine the outrage on here if Will was as slow as Bob was?

I guess it depends whether you think impact the player had on a football club is important when deciding who the best striker ever is?

I think ( and the O/P can correct me if I'm wrong) it's about pure footballing ability

Schecter had an impact on the club. Does that make him a great striker as well? Or how about Shefki? Had one helluva impact on the playing surface. Seriously, Trunds is a great ambassador but I believe (and awaits the abuse coming back) that he would have scored maybe 1 or 2 at most against Prem defenders. Didn't do that well in the Championship for the Wurzels or for us. You cannot be serious in even trying to compare Will with Trunds. Will is miles ahead. But, we forgive you.

David Gwyther was, for me, a Swansea legend - not often mentioned. I hope Bony's early showing wasn't down to him and Michu not being able to play together. IMHO Pozuelo behind Bony is the more exciting pairing.

I don't think it's that, I think Michu has been playing at 60% due to injury. If he gets back to 100% fitness they could become a great partnership

And in 5 and a bit months has scored more than Trunds has in the Prem against some of the worlds best defenders. Danny Graham has scored more than Trunds again against some of the worlds best defenders. Players are judged on "if they are our best..." on the pitch. For a striker, that means scoring goals and the level played. How many did Trunds score against Hart, Kompany, Baines, Howard, Cole, Cech, De Gea and the like? How about European opposition? Now Trunds is excellent for the club and has brought a lot of new young fans in to watch us play, as well as given us TV exposure when he was playing. But a better striker than Will? Bit of a 'mare post that one.

Our Wilfried. on 12:44 - Jan 21 with 810 views | AnotherJohn | Probably Latchford - as an out and out striker - for me, but I don't discount what Michu did for us last season. He carried the team in a way that perhaps big Bob did not. Will is also beginning to look the part now, but still doesn't have the right support. Really liked the way he kept going against Spurs and the nice little jink and floated cross he put in a few minutes before he scored.

What is there to look beyond? Scoring goals in a better league = better player?
