Saints seem to be wasting no time in scouting for replacements for Sadio Mane with reports from Nigeria suggesting a big bid might be about to be made.
According to the media in Nigeria Saints are about to spend big to land CSKA Moscow's Ahmed Musa, owngoalnigeria.com say that Saints have already tabled a £20 million bid for the striker whom CSKA value at £25 million.
Musa sounds like another version of Mane, he is blessed with electric pace and scored 13 goals last season.
He has been in Moscow for the past four years signing from VVV Venlo where he was a team mate of current Saints player Maya Yoshida, both leaving after two seasons in 2012. The fee CSKA was undisclosed although Venlo turned down a bid from a German club in the region of £8 million, so presumably he would have fetched a little more than that.
Since then Musa who will be 24 in October has been attracting admiring glances including that of Leicester City who are said to have had two bids turned down.
His strike rate in Russia is good scoring 42 goals in 124 League games and now after four seasons in Russia it seems he is about to try his luck in the Premier League, although just where his destination will be is still up for debate.
