QPR's most local of locals The Springbok gets the once over from our message board. This place is literally within spitting distance of the ground.
Name of pub: The Springbok
Location: Right outside the ground in South Africa Road.
Size: Medium - sort of 'L' shaped
Selection of beers? John Smiths, lagers, ciders but no Real Ales.
Price of drinks? £3.30ish
How full does it get on a matchday? RAMMED
How fit are the bar staff? More tattoo's than tiaras.
How long does it take to walk to the ground from there? Seconds.
Sky Sports/ESPN? Sky definitely.
Suitable for away fans? Not Any More. Homers only.
Suitable for families and kids? No. Far too busy you'd lose a kid in there.
What's the smoking situation? Outside in small beer garden to rear.
Beer garden? Hardly a garden more of a patio area.
As far as pub toilets go, just how bad are these? Wouldn't want a crap in there.
Does it serve food and is it any good? No food.
Trendy modern bar, traditional pub or somewhere in between? Re painted old style boozer with Rangers motifs everywhere.
In one sentence why should people visit/steer clear of this pub? If you want to sweat it out with fellow R's this is the place, if you want to wait ten minutes to get served this is your place.
Any other business? Stan the Man can sometimes be seen in the vicinity. The LSA have the downstairs bar which is smaller than my front room and twice as hot. You have to be a member to suffer it though.
