Russell Martin has already said he want to bring in another winger, whether that is Ryan Fraser or otherwise now it seems we want a player who was a major part of Pompey's promotion push last season.

footballinsider247.com have reported that Saints are looking to bring in a player who was a hero to the Fratton faithful last season and it will mean alarm bells ringing in the Fratton End as they lose a hero to Southampton.

The man in question is Norwich City winger Abu Kamara, the 21 year old had made just 3 League appearances for the Canaries up to last summer when he joined Pompey on a season long loan.

But he played in all 46 games of Pompey's League One promotion winning season, 37 of them in the starting line up, scoring 8 goals along the way.

Now it seems that he could be set for a move back to the South Coast, however I would suggest that this could be one of these agent fuelled rumours, Saints already have far better wide options than Kamara at the club now and it is also a big jump from League One to the Premier League.

His comments about Shea Charles were interesting, suggesting publicly that we need more faces in the club before the season starts. Not sure if that’s a hint to the board, but they need to get a move on with a keeper and a creator. Why haven’t we already brought in ORiley if he’s a 20-25 player? The days are ticking by and the only one who looks likely is a guy who can’t get a start for Palace.. Back to being rather concerned again! Come on board get the players in, every point will be vital!
