Refwatch: AFC Wimbledon v Rochdale Friday, 31st Mar 2023 09:00 by TVOS Alan Young will referee Dale’s first game since Jim Bentley departed at AFC Wimbledon’s Plough Lane ground on Saturday. The Bedford-based official, who is originally from Blackpool, is in his fifth season on the National List and has previously refereed four Dale matches. In January 2019, Alan was in charge of our 2-1 loss at Barnsley, while two months later he was in the middle for Dale’s 1-1 draw at Gillingham. His next Dale game was on the opening day of the 2020/21 campaign at Swindon, where we went down to a 3-1 defeat, while earlier this season, he oversaw the 1-1 home draw with Crawley. In refereeing those games, Mr Young joined the likes of William Burns, Keith Hill and Michael Oliver in a rather unique Dale-referee related list! This will be Alan’s 29th match of this season, with the previous 28 producing 117 yellow cards and eight reds. His most recent appointment was Swindon v Stockport last weekend.
