I didn’t play in that one,I played the following season, there is a photo floating about in cyberspace somewhere. We lost 3-2, was 2 up then Beesotted panicked and brought on their full Sunday side who were a lot younger, fitter and faster than most of us! I played centre half, think Bob Malcom with half his pace!
I played the following year , can remember Davman and 100% but not many more. The Beesotted team was run by a Korean guy called Leicester Bee, randomly bumped into him on the tube when I was going to a game a few years later.
Smiffy used to wind a few up,a few posters met up with him one match day and had a word in his ear, sadly he passed away a few years back after not fully recovering from a motorbike accident.
I started posting on rivals in 1998, when that closed Ron & Simon set up QPR.net and that then split into this,I think Ingham moderated for a short while with a “anything goes attitude” and then a very young poster from oop North took over am here we are all these years later.
I have just literally phoned the EFL, the chap was very pleasant but unable to give an answer, said there had been a lot of queries, clubs are still in discussions and a decision should be made soon. So none the wiser.
We have the worst GD of all the sides looking for 6th which is why I was a bit miffed that we didn’t go for the jugular in Friday , keep Frey, chair and Yang and we were good for 5 or 6 IMHO
Just back in my hotel room in Ealing Broadway, very slightly disappointed that we put the cue on the rack with 20 minutes still to play, Derby were there for the taking and had we got 6 or 7 it wouldn’t have been a surprise.
