| News Comment | Act three – Report at 18:30:06
Agree on Andersen, particularly on his first half performance where he seemed to be everywhere across the front 3. Love watching him play and you have to think keeping him fit and fresh will be crucial to our survival. Trying to stay optimistic particularly with our next little run of games although wondering whether we're more likely to get the wins we need from the likes of Sunderland, Swansea and even Preston away, than we are at Loftus Rd against Brum and Sheff Weds? |
| News Comment | How Ainsworth’s dream job turned into his, and our, worst nightmare – Column at 03:58:16
Brilliant writing Clive. The problems with the club now run so deep that I honestly can't see anyone we appoint keeping us up this season, unless we can scrape a handful of wins between now and Jan and then hope the recent Matrade deal gives us a little FFP room to strengthen. I'm torn between getting Sir Neil in until the end of the season (mostly for shits and giggles) or accepting it's going to be L1 football next season and building for the future with someone like Ryan Mason or the Notts County geezer (although why he'd come here is anybody's guess). Either way, your analysis is spot on and always a breath of fresh air. |

I'm still crying with laughter at the toilet story. From one shit-show to another - brilliant writing Clive. |
| News Comment | QPR falter, letting Luton in for rare win — Report at 16:57:43
Excellent report and totally agree with your suggestion that the respective clubs’ hierarchy sit down and have a chat over a beer to de-escalate things. I think Luton were the best side we’ve faced this season and I’d be very surprised if they don’t finish top 6 this year. In fact if we continue progressing despite this blip we could even face them in the play-offs, hopefully with Willock and Laird back to even things up a bit. |
| News Comment | A matter of routine - Report at 15:23:07
Interesting comment about the pitch Clive. I think we’ve played our best football away from home this season on pitches that *look* larger than the KPFS, although as we all know that could be just an illusion. Discussion of a new stadium has revealed we’d like a similar setup to what we have now - pitch size on the smaller size of average with fans close to the pitch to recreate that special atmosphere that we’ve all missed so much. Should we be re-thinking this? |

Superb report Clive, captures the agony and ecstasy of watching us play on the interwebs beautifully. And you're so right about our (lack of) decent shooting - perhaps fewer cute little triangles in training and more 'ave it'? |
| News Comment | Chair presses QPR's point amidst penalty controversies - Report at 20:26:28
Great report, exactly how I saw it too. Pleased for LTC who seems to get endless and often unwarranted stick on here ... hope he can press on and produce 7/10 performances week-in, week-out. Not convinced by Ballinho as the presser but we'll see. I'm still trying to work out what Dykes did to somehow contrive to miss that header - did he not get his body in the right position? Was there more pace on LTC's sex-chip than we thought? I screamed the bloody apartment down before I realised what had happened - the build-up to the cross was good too. |

You left the best until last Clive (and god knows you've written some fantastic reports over this season, parts 1 and 2). Living abroad your reports have become an essential part of the 'match day experience' for me. Thanks for all your hard work and long may they continue! I'll even forgive you the consistent awarding of one mark higher for Ilias than he should be getting. The kid has tremendous talent and had a tidy game yesterday, but he has loads to learn and often gets pushed off the ball too easily. I hope we're not relying on him next season to step into Eze's shoes straight away because I think he has a long way to go in his development ... hopefully we can bring in one or two creative players for him to play those little triangles with. But that's just a quibble (and I'm just sad that he'll no longer have Ebs and BOS to play with). A very satisfactory season indeed ... |
| News Comment | The view from the Pu - March at 17:18:09
I was at that Leicester game in our promotion season. Leicester were a really good side (Yakubu, Waghorn, King, Mee) but in typical Warnock-style we ground out a result. The nature of Miller's winning goal and the crowd noise when he scored reminded me of Furlong v Oldham. Good memories, thanks Steve! |
| News Comment | Kane and Pugh make it a summer dozen - Signings at 17:52:02
Pugh knows where the back of the net is! Scores a lot with his head for a wee bloke ... I predict he’ll be a hit with the fans as long as he can stay fit. But if he plays on the left of a 3 where does that leave Eze/Bright? I still think we look overloaded in deep-lying midfield, especially with Cameron signing. Amos/Smith/Ball/Cameron and Scowen (albeit further forward). Still we have options and competition for places, and as Clive said, Warburton is far more likely to rotate the squad and prevent burnout than Schteeve. I think Chair will disappear on loan again too ... not a bad thing as I think he still has a few things to work on. I would have liked to see him unload a few 25-yarders in pre-season but we saw instead a lot of pretty triangles around the edge of the box without really going anywhere. Immense talent though. |
| News Comment | Talk to me about your fairytale ending - Report at 20:57:27
This should win an award for sports journalism ... it's that good. I watched the game on a small screen from Canada but reading Clive's report I might as well have been at Loftus Road getting a running commentary in my ear from an absolute lunatic. Magnificent! |
| News Comment | Selling Smithies is the right move at the wrong price - Column at 01:33:52
I think he made a 3rd mistake - against Blackburn in his first home game? Flapped badly at a cross and the Blackburn player (was it Rhodes?) scored. Still, 3 mistakes in 2.5 seasons. I wish him well - he's the best Rs keeper I've seen since Seaman. |
| News Comment | Kids shine as Onuoha and Mackie bid farewell - Report at 16:24:32
"QPR have now had five under 20s score for them this season, more than any other team in the division." Fills my heart with hope for the future! Clive - can I echo others in thanking you for all the hard work you do on this website, in particular your match reports which are always comprehensive and entertaining in equal measure. We are lucky to have you. |

Moncur looked good for them I thought. A cheeky little (and it would have to be little) bid should Barnsley not avoid the drop? |
