When are you going back to write "shit but local" under it?

I'm with Mick and Brian!

On the one hand, the sale of most alcohol is down to marketing and Guinness has somehow pulled off the trick of looking like something cool to drink, which makes no sense when you think about it.

On the other hand, I've had some great pints of Guinness and some utter drek from local pubs a few hundred yards apart, but whether it is down to the pour or other factors I have no idea.

While we're at it, I'm still impressed with Guinness 0.0. No other AF drinks come close to it for tasting like the alcoholic version and it's just about as good as the normal stuff, even if Guinness never tastes as good from a can.

Mel Johnson Interview - now on the Patreon

Just finishing part one.

A great listen and a reminder of how enjoyable 2002-05 was, certainly compared with what has happened since, with a few exceptions and the first promotion to the Premier League.

Random irritations..

People at the gym who sit at a weights machine and fcuk about on their phone for 20 minutes as if they're sat on a park bench.

People at the gym who like to have bantz with the instructors. There's one bloke in my spin class who shouts out things like "Great tune, mate!" to the instructor.

People in the full gym car park who sit in their cars with the lights on, ready to leave, while you sit there like a prick waiting to see whether they'll pull out, which they never do.

Most people at my gym, basically.

Celarbrace drags QPR’s team, fans and striker back from the brink – Report
at 13:23 29 Nov 2024

Half an hour into the match I announced to my son: "I have now made up my mind. Celar is just plain crap." I'd given him plenty of time but he was having a shocker.

For my next act I will announce that Varane is never going to score from outside the box, around 12.50 on Saturday.

Things You Have Changed Your Mind About

The Shawshank Redemption. I used to love it but I started watching it again last week and I hated it and had to turn if off. I think it might be Morgan Freeman's smug and all-knowing voiceover that did it for me.

The same applies to Red Dwarf - whenever I catch a repeat on TV I can't believe how much I liked it in the 80s.

On a brighter note, I now fancy Sophie in series 1 and 2 of Peep Show for the first time. She is sooo Rainbow Rhythms.

I'm concerned too, but you can only stress about all of this for so long. Football has changed so much, for the worse, and we are so far away from looking like a professional club and team that I can't find the passion and enthusiasm I used to feel. I wish I felt differently but it's becoming a chore to support QPR.

I watched it recently and thought it was pretty good until the last 20 minutes or so, which were utterly ludicrous. It was a good idea for a movie and pretty well done until it fell apart, almost literally.

There are far too many knee jerk reactions in football now, but there is a growing body of evidence that our summer recruitment has been a disaster for the most part, that our CEO is a misguided control freak and that a manager whom most of us revere is distancing himself from what is going on at the club. I think it's now clear that we need to sack our CEO as he is a liability.

Agreed. Kill List is a great film but Generation Z was a complete mess.

A lot of my favourite films have been listed, including Alien, Halloween, The Shining, American Werewolf, The Thing, Hellraiser, Event Horizon, Saw, The Descent and Get Out. Others good ones are:

The Omen
Damien: Omen II
The Fly
A Quiet Place
Wrong Turn
Hostel

More thriller than horror, I also recommend:

Calibre
A Lonely Place To Die
Dead Calm
