Absolutely outrageous comment from StSaint! It's not compulsory to read these articles, I would suggest the fact that you so implies that you think Nick speaks some sense or at least his point can be debated like an adult. You should be ashamed! On a different note I think saints will climb the table and we are definitely a better side then west ham even with the loaned 35 million man. That said where you should be and where you are, are different things and for the time being we need to keep the momentum and climb. Newcastle never showed at st Mary's so hopefully after Thursday the same will occur. StNick thank you for your work! |

It has to be said we might be 'dropping points' but we are playing so good football and there is light at the end of the tunnel. It pains me to say it but a few weeks ago I looked over the record books to see how many points Derby County finished on in their record setting 07-08 season thinking we might beat it..... (11 points). I know we are still in the drop but we are playing football again and the confidence and swagger that we have enjoyed in the lower leagues is coming back. This Saturday will be a good game and Lambert to score as some point is definately worth a punt! But Saurez is of a similar mold to Tevez and we all know how much of a handful he was for our defence. As for the issue with the wings that you have mentioned Nick I agree that we cant give them space but if anything we have to show the down the wing rather then let them cut inside. Clyne and Shaw should be able to handle this as they both have pace and agility (fox not so much). But our midfield have to get back and mark up the late runs into the box (i.e QPR goal). Take them to the byline and make them cross!! •Just 14 per cent of Liverpool’s crosses from open-play have been met by a team mate, the worst record in the division #imastatman COYR |
| News Comment | Tuesday's Results Remind Saints It's Still A Hard Task ! at 11:07:01
Yeah I agree it wasnt the perfect result as a 0-0 would have been ideal but I think your title may have been more appropriate if both Sunderland and Reading had taken big confidence boosting results. It little bit like ours- and that what they are confidence boosters so let give them a little bit of room to do just that. Nick a few weeks back we were saying can we do enough to hold on till January and buy some defenders. Do you still feel the same? If so what defenders would you buy? Dawson would be a quality signing in my opinion but Redkanpp at QPR makes sense for him now. |

Aweful title- Tuesdays results were pretty much exactly what we needed- a bore draw from Sunderland and QPR meaning neither of them going anywhere fast/at all. Combined with a very evenly contested late winner for Villa meaning they go 2 points ahead, with us having a game in hand, rather then reading go 1 point ahead both having played 13. As for the insightfulness of if you win you go up the league and if you lose you go down?- I thought that was a gimmy. By no means are we home and dry but we are a million miles from where we were a few weeks ago. Players havent become world beaters over night but it is very clear to see that certain introductions to the team have allowed others to play to their strengths rather then their weeknesses. Tonight is a big ask, I think Lambert should start on the bench with JR as the lone striker, he did take a knock on sunday, the is of a tender age and I think we owe it to him to give him a proper run out at anfield. Other than him I would expect for NA to ring some changes and use his subs to rest players if we are in a position come 65/70 mins. We need to rotate to keep it resh and the adage of never change a winning team although it has some millage the game has come on since those days, its now a case of what players can influence our style and distrupt theirs. |

Disagree that they won't be attacking down the wings as much. Those arias balls you speak of are usually coming from those positions. If Clyne takes the left then you would assume Richardson is going to take right and I think he will really struggle with Baines. Hoefully the neeves will have settled now and we will see the saints which came out in the second 45 rather then the first last week. Like you I would be happy with a draw. |

Now I will admit that I would be content with just not being at the bottom of the league table come monday morning but there is still a chance we can get something out of this. I remember Leeds opening day last season and having butterflies in my stomach, next thing we knew Hammond has scored the best goal of his life and we were off. Man citeh might have a little bit more in the locker then Leeds but they have also lost plenty of games that they should have one, so why not us!!
