Yet taking into account the fact that our top 13 / 14 whatever is what we have, some are happy to cut adrift a player who is in excellent form and out of contract through no fault of his own ! Unbelievable Jeff !! |

So a player's contract runs down through nofault of his own, continues to play out of his skin and yet you would cut him adrift just to show him the errors of his ways? In spite of the obvious danger that would pose to the team over the next 1/2 season ? That is just baffling |

Good read as always Keith. No reason for Darling to rush into a deal now as he will, as you said in the article, be a free agent in the summer and be able to get a better deal for himself. In the meantime surely it is clear to any level headed Swans fan that if he is sold now, we will be much poorer and our paper thin squad will struggle |

If we lose Darling and fail to replace him then relegation is a very real threat Raynes |

Seems like it is silly season Not only on the managerial front, but also in regards to the retaining or otherwise of certain players ( in particular Harry Darling ) It seems a very small minority think we can do without Darling and / or replace him with an unknown quantity in Low from Wycombe I hope Low comes but should be in addition to Darling not instead of. There has also been some crazy speculation on the cost of keeping Darling as opposed to selling him and risking a relegation battle with a depleted squad. Monge tui Rodney ! |

Any player can be replaced. Christie can replace him. Being an adequate replacement is a totally different matter though |

Not confusing anything and no need to be rude, smarmy and arrogant We have no strength in depth. Take away Franco, Darling, Cullen, and Cabango from our first choice eleven and the result will be a Portsmouth style result every game. If you could not see how dominant WBA were yesterday and how much we had Darling to thank yesterday for his part then maybe you are watching a different game from most of us. Take Darling out of that defence yesterday and you honestly believe we would have drawn ? |

I wish I shared your faith. However two wins that rather papered over the cracks against poor sides, a shocking defeat against an ordinary Portsmouth side followed by a fortunate draw against a team whom, had we not had Darling in defence would have handed us another drubbing suggests otherwise. We are down to the bare bones now. Take any more quality out of that side be it through transfers, injuries or loss of form , and we could well be in a relegation dogfight |

Never liked Gregg myself or Sousa ( snoozefest) Who is Franco ? |

So suppose we let him go, Cabango sustains an injury and we do not sign Low ( or another suitable replacement) or alternatively we do sign them but they fall short of the mark ? We could easily tumble towards the bottom of the league ( far better clubs than us have suffered that fate ) Then the £65k we save that you quote to keep him per week would be at the cost of relegation As we found in 2018, it is easy to go down Not at all easy to come back up |

We have no idea how good Low is. Darling was a one man defence yesterday He should be persuaded to stay at all costs |

No one knows who is going or who is coming in for certain. If we offer him a decent contract he may well sign Or he may go to Leeds ( who clearly need a good centre half judging by yesterday's goalfest) The only certainty in life is death. Other than that none of us knows what will happen with Harry |

Knitting Mind you wish I had taken my Soduko book to Portsmouth - would have been more entertaining |

Yet another manager you don't rate ? I wonder if this forum had existed when Tosh joined would you have posted "Ex Cardiff, broken down wreck kicked out of Liverpool with no experience. Bring back Harry Gregg please" ? |

Not at all obvious. I for one had full intentions of attending the game but got involved with a situation at home which meant I couldn't attend For others living further away the weather and threat of snow etc will have been a factor Some will stop going because of Williams Many others will take the attitude ( correctly ) that they support the team, regardless of owners, managers, etc |
