I thought it was quite a well rounded choice. An obvious well known successful player that parents would know. A current player, that's doing well, and parents of a player that never made the grade ,which portrays a level of honesty and the reality of football. Obviously there's going to be parents who have not been happy with the club for various reasons over the years, I'd imagine. And some might simply not want to be in a promotional video. |

Thanks for this Norf. All seems fair enough, doesn't it? Nothing controversial? I dunno, what we saying? |

Alien: Romulus. It's been Disney'ed up a bit hasn't it. It looks great, but it felt like a montage of all the good bits of Alien and Aliens. I can overlook that, I loved those films, and it genuinely felt like you're back in that world. But the one thing that bothered me throughout was kids as the main characters. They looked about 14, taking on Zenomorphs and it just seemed ridiculous. Imagine Hicks giving Newt a pulse rifle in Aliens and she goes around blasting these things. Stupid. So yeh, an obvious Disney agenda to get a younger audience involved and giving their new TV series Alien:Earth more viewers. Apart from that, it was ok. 3 stars. Would have been more if they had some proper grown up characters, that at least would be old enough to have a pilot licence and military training ,let alone flying space ships. The vinyl copy has QPR FC Rules etched into the vinyl run out. I like Pete and glad he's got off the skag. The song is pretty good. |

Watching Alien Romulus tonight hopefully on Disney+. I'm not expecting too much from it but hopefully its gives a decent account of itself and adds to the mythology and storyline that's currently gone completely off piste with the last few films. I dont want my Alien films to try and explain to me how the very existence of life and Aliens as we know it was created. Its a completely unbelievable made up theory for a start, and so basically pointless. Bugs in space on the other hand.... [Post edited 15 Jan 11:31]

Yeh , built in 1827 and now in 2025 we can't even repair it. So much for modern advancement. |

That's where my wife lived funnily enough. We still go down that way to visit her mum. Walked over Hammersmith bridge a couple of weeks ago. They've lifted up all the tarmac and under it is just wooden planks. Crazy to think of all that traffic driving over it. No idea why it's taking so long to fix though. |

I lived in Barnes only up to the age of 6. Mum and dad rented the upstairs of a house on Elm Grove road. Red Lion pub down the end of the road, with a pub garden, perfect for a 1970s parent. I was always in the area though growing up. |

Thats a shame. He was a decent player, maybe not championship level but would do a job in L1 or 2. |

I know Sheen really well, got good childhood memories from that area. . My first school was east Sheen Primary when we lived in Barnes, we then moved to Richmond. My wife went to Sheen senior school. Palewell Park is where my dad taught me to ride a bike on my Raleigh Striker. Do you remember there used to be an old book shop opposite the library.? I used to get hold of the latest graphic novels and DC comics. I think its gone now sadly , but i loved popping in there. Also, there was a newsagents near East Sheen where it had a load of arcade machines.. Golden Axe, Street Fighter etc. Spent my school holidays in that shop. The old guy who worked there used to sell you individual fags for 50p. I've got happy memories along the Upper Richmond road, on the 33 bus, causing mischief, up to Wandsworth. Richmond, Sheen ,Mortlake, Barnes, Putney, Roehampton(born in Queen Mary's). Ive now lived longer in Bracknell, 26 years this year, but I miss my old manor. Sorry, just waffling.. lol |

Yeh, its a bit odd. I thought he was half decent. Ahead of Madsen in that midfield department anyway. |
