41 years on, still holds the 800m world record, the oldest on the books. Kids today, just aren’t willing to put the effort in.

Just need Danny P to show us the Irish Tricolour fluttering over Mars, or “The Rebel Planet” as it will be renamed.

275m did seem improbable given its lack of public impact!

I imagine even the Green Party is a lot less civil these days, given their expulsions and lawsuits.

I was reading on Bloomberg today that Bluesky users have increased from 10m in September to 15m this week. Threads has 275m. Another resemblance to the Green Party?

I gave it up years ago, but I wouldn’t replace it with a knock-off. I prefer communities based around my interests (not necessarily my priors), rather than all-comers.

Half decent tv

After a 9 year wait, the second series of Wolf Hall has arrived on the BBC. I probably should have watched the first again to remind myself who all these characters are and what they want (not helped by some of them having to be recast since) so it takes a lot of concentration and careful listening but it is well worth the effort. Looks amazing, commands your attention, a real treat.

I said to the man next to me, they’re on a hiding to nothing here. Either, “anyone can do that” or “they can’t even do that”. Even round-the-pole would have been a better idea.

Apart from ten minutes after the red card, absolutely deafening. They deserve a bit of glee after the last ten years, good luck to them.

I’m not sure about the last statement. Sunderland were slicing us apart minutes 10-35 and from half time to the red card.

Sunderland fans might not agree, but I thought he pitched his tolerance of physical contact right and stuck to it rather than hopping about. No doubt about the red card and extra points for the early yellow card for their keeper.

Extremely impressive in the first half, always looking to get the ball quickly forward on the ground, seems to make his mind up before he gets the ball. Varane looked good breaking up their possession but dithered on the ball by comparison and wasn’t able to find players free. Morgan faded out after an hour but I imagine Marti didn’t think he had a better option.
