| News Comment | Watch me rise up and leave, all the ashes you made out of me – Report at 16:43:48
My best memories of Leeds are the most comprehensive 1.0 I have ever witnessed for the Venables 1983 champions, the joyous, couldn’t give a fxck defeat after the excruciating Faurlin week of doubt and of course Friday. I enticed an old mate back for the Stan game v West Brom and he said, “I really like this lot”. I think he’s back for a season ticket again next season. My Fulham supporting son asked me if I’d take him to a couple of games next season. The old lady that is Loftus Rd was simply magnificent. Families and youngsters rattling the metal anachronism that is our home. They can march where they want but it was us who were together! |

I was a bit young and only saw him at the Bees. But I was old enough to see him in a few pubs in the manor. Never shy of humouring a young devotee. And Rangers to his bones. |

The paras showing a window into your family Christmas might well be the highlight of mine this year. It really is outstanding stuff Clive. Thank you. |

Thanks Clive. This is a really insightful piece. You’re absolutely correct about the appalling standard of refereeing. It extends right through the football pyramid. I’ve always been slightly of the view that any ambition to be a referee should automatically prohibit you from being allowed to be one and there are countless numbers of petty, sad, sexually stunted little men who take on the job. However, when one reflects on the revolting avarice filled corridors of football in the country and then at how little is invested in making football officialdom an attractive option with ongoing training and development programs, it is nothing short of scandalous. You’re absolutely right though. There really is nobody else. As you go down the leagues it gets worse and worse. Until you end up left on Sunday leagues with well meaning but basically totally incompetent old boys getting called a cxnt for 90 minutes by groups of still pissed, fat, slobbering stroke magnets. Why would you do it? |
| News Comment | The rat is back — Report at 10:26:16
Thanks Clive. I wasn’t there, but, was for the utter dross served up for Stoke and Rotherham. I’m not normally one for hyperbole, but, I was minded to post at the half time that it was 45 minutes from McLaren’s P45. Genuinely, there isn’t an excuse for our recent results and level of performance. It doesn’t take much to get me back in the hope waiting room and I’m prepared to dream that this might be the turning point. I would say that we haven’t moved forward one iotas from last season, apart from we haven’t got a manager who gets the club anymore. I accept all the criticism of Holloway and the need for a more astute tactical outlook, but, this recent run has just been soul destroying, coming as it has at the same time as the best footballing team we’re likely to play have picked up. I’m pleased for the Rat. With Luongo and Freeman I though we had a very good championship midfield last season. It’s a shame he’s fallen overboard so far this season. Maybe he’s turned that corner too. We don’t need a lot us die hards. Don’t be so shit is really all I was asking for. By the sounds of it, the second half was a bit better than shit. That’ll do me. COYRS! |
| News Comment | Vintage QPR performance lands them in Hull hell - Report at 15:02:24
Agree with the report Clive; got out thought didn’t we. But, Jesus wept, the referee. Apologies to the two youngsters in the family stand who looked genuinely frightened at the beer scented, middle aged man behind them standing up and shouting “you absolute cock womble†at the ridiculous excuse for a official. It wasn’t raining, so why are they allowed to put the fucxing ball up their jersey for every fucxing throw in? Book them you twot! |

Brilliant Clive. I’d pay to read this stuff*. Can you make the nightclub reviews a regular piece? (* I probably wouldn’t. The guardian has still got fuxk all out of me) |
| News Comment | Ten things I hate about Pool — Preview at 23:15:49
Appreciate your comments OnTheRock, but, I didn’t read the report as that we have a divine right to beat you or any side from a lower league. Rather, that we should take the bloody competition seriously; if we then get beat then fair enough. However, the main tenant of the piece for me is an accurate summation of the ridiculous inconsistency of our manager and owners strategy. Ollie has ever right to have a little chuckle to himself at the plight of QPR. The fact he probably isn’t is the really tragic indictment of our ridiculous decision to let him go...for this. |
| News Comment | Season preview part two - the strugglers at 04:15:10
Thanks Clive, a great bit of foreplay for Saturday, One thing that struck me is the amount of business Cardiff have done in picking up prospects with decent championship pedigree. I think it’s a credible strategy and does make me wonder what might have been, had Warnock been allowed to plan after our promotion, rather than have his entire pre season shat on by boardroom shenanigans. |
