Had three tickets (one Jnr) for well over a decade now but can't come to many games as we live in Spain. Will renew again but often feel a bit bad that the seats are always empty. Have mates/contacts who occasionally use them but anyone know if there is some sort of club or supporter scheme where I can put them up for availability? Not bothered about about making money or the face price of the ticket, would just like them to be used.
Have to agree. Without forgetting that it's free content and takes a lot of work and commitment to make it happen (credit to Finney from what I read), they need a proper host and nobody has been up to David's standard. Can listen to Clive for days, wish he was on there more often (or did his own regular LfW pod).
Ciufuentes had his pre-match press chat today. Wonder if he was asked about the move? Should have been and expect to see a story in the next day or so, particularly the reasons behind the decision.
On that note, have been wondering why journos covering the club haven't been asking more probing questions about Richards. Why is nobody on the record?
If someone is not specifically helping Armstrong with his finishing in training then I hope he has the intelligence (or people around him to suggest?) to engage his own personal coach or assistance with this. Didn't Ferdinand realise he needed to bulk-up and went on an off-season gym routine? He returned the following season like a beast.
Anyway, his presence and hassling helps the team win metres further up the pitch, which is both an offensive and defensive asset.
Some decent observations here but I doubt we can be fully judgmental without knowing what Ciufuentes is asking him to do. Against Southampton it looked like he was dropping deep to receive the ball from the centre backs and bring an opponent marker with him to create a bit of space behind. We just couldn’t find that forward pass often and into that gap.
He’s a ball player but the lack of smarts with movement mean he is easily overlooked. Maybe that’s also due to inexperience and the constant tactical changes with management? I think Ciufuentes rates him; hence the appearances.
On Colback, he is a liability but let’s not forget that he has already scored two goals and for that potential to come from a midfielder at our club is not to be sniffed at!
A bizarre time. I remember an injured Martin Rowlands flipping off the fans as he accompanied Hart off the field, and how he went down in my estimation at that point. I wonder if other clubs have as many random and dramatic episodes as we do?
Quite enjoyed it...but the book is very uneven. His childhood and formative years are given a lot of scope and soul searching and the second half - his career as a music journalist - feels skimmed over in comparison. There must have been a lot more stories and experiences to tell and it would have been good to know his thoughts and opinions on the print/media industry...but it quickly veers into an Interpol homage to conclude.
Even though yesterday's selection was a bit puzzling (and I'd love to know the full reasons for it, other than he thinks it was perhaps the strongest to win the game and reverse the glut at home) how about we judge GA on next season when it actually is next season?
Maybe three managerial changes in one campaign is not enough for people? Let's start with #1 nice and early...
