Is anyone else a bit done?
at 09:32 10 Nov 2024

I have supported the club for just under 20 years now and for the first time in my memory, I reluctantly admit to losing interest. There are fortunately or unfortunately things I would rather be doing to enjoy my weekends that cost a lot less money and stress .

Even through the prem years and Ainsworth football (the worst ive seen), I still had the drive to be frustrated with the team and had optimism that it would be better soon. Cold Tuesday nights at the Loft or long away days weren't a hindrance, it was all part of supporting QPR.

However, it just seems like failure after failure after failure and we never seem to learn. Andy Belk's continued employment despite seemingly not being very good is evidence of this alone.

I dont know what the answer is, it feels like we have gone down every route possible. But we just want a bit of Warnock and Adel to cheer us all up haha. Hats off to those who have done it for 40+ years, its truly admirable.

This weeks Podcast

Ollie at his best, well worth a listen.

Said a lot of good points about how we dont like this team, but need to give a lot more. How Gareth is the right man for the job etc. Said we were wrong to sack Warbs and the senior players gave up.

Dont agree with all he said though, especially the point about us not needing to play nice football. Personally I think we do need to be entertained for the fans to be on side. We may not be man city, but we also dont want to be Millwall or Preston either. This club is at its best when we have characters and mavericks who play good football.

Board hate?
at 19:16 28 Jan 2023

Following the game today I have seen a lot of comments on here and twitter pushing to sack the board and I just dont get it at all.

They are not football experts- they defer to a Director of football to make the decisions on players and contracts (as they should). They put up the money each month to keep us afloat and have recently invested in a training ground etc.

I think we need to be careful what we wish for. People seem to have short memories and dont remember Flav and Bernie being involved in substitutions etc. Since Tony has stepped back, they have been much more reserved and sensible and they have absorbed the debt from the acknowledged errors of the prem era.

What is the perfect owner we want? what do you want them to do differently? Put us at financial risk by investing money over the FFP limit?

The only challenge I have is not sacking Les, but beyond that, it is Les' ship, they just fund it. I am not saying they are perfect but we could do a lot worse.

Junior Hoilett

He was on Nedem Onouha's podcast this week and actually came across as quite a decent bloke.

They discussed the relegation season under Hughes and reading between the lines it sounds like Mackie, Hill, Derry etc. were not blameless in the bad atmosphere. Without naming names he mentioned that there was quite a bit of jealousy floating around from some. Probably because Boswanka and co. refused to be on the bench though.

Also interesting to hear Nedem say that he reckons the most hated players were
1. Boswanka
2. Mbia
3. Hoilett
4. Him

I am not sure what you lot think but I reckon the chief is held in high regard by most. You cant play over 200 games for the club and not hold some standing. SWP, Julio Cesaer are a lot worse than JH & Nedem IMO.

Onuoha- Granero Podcast
at 12:24 31 Aug 2020

Apologies if this has been posted before but I saw that Nedum has started a podcast called 'Kickback with Nedum'.

He did an episode with Granero and it is well worth a listen. He goes over his whole career and talks about his time at QPR. I think he enjoyed it a lot and said that he wished he could have stayed longer if the club had stayed in the Prem.

He also added Ale Faurlin in his 5 a side team of his whole career which is impressive when you consider who he has played with (Kaka, Alonso, Guti etc.)

It will be interesting to see which QPR players come on the pod next. I am sure there are a lot of stories from that strange period in our history. I would like to hear from some of the other players who have not been heard before e.g. Cisse, Helguson, Rio, Austin.
