Great first half (apart from the finishing) against a poor and injury hit Rotherham. Second half was awful tippy tappy possession football and we were deservedly punished for it. Very disappointing.

Why go for more goals when we can pass it around another 10, 20, 50, 100 times, what’s the worst that can happen….oh shit…..

Another tactical masterclass from RM - why stick to a winning formula when you have your own agenda?

Make no mistake, this is an awful result, not taking anything away from Rotherham who deserved the point they earned.

First half was very good and Johansson kept them in it. Second half we sat back, as we have the last two games but this was terrible tactically and bloody boring. 80% possession and draw 1-1 with a team that had two shots on target.
I'm trying really hard to get behind Russel Martins style but it is very difficult when we play such poor game management. Sideways, sideways backwards is not progressive please don't try to convince me differently.

First my best wishes to the fan who collapsed and if reports that he didn't make it my condolences to his family

I thought after the last 2 games tha we had changed to playing positive possession football But that didn't last Today we were back to negative possession football The second half was on the verge of being boring
When they scored why was Baz on the edge of the box when we didn't have the ball? I know it's the risk you take when you ask the keeper to also be the sweeper but he should have been further back
Che Adams is doing his best to get a Jan transfer and I just hope Stewart can hit the ground at full speed
Can I ask anyone on here who boos our own to please stop and if you sit near anyone who does ask them not to If we had scored a winner it would have gone down as the best performance this year

If we can’t beat a team like Rotherham with our home field advantage l can’t see us being promoted at this rate.
Awful result especially getting of to a great start but goes to show doesn’t matter if you have all the possession in the world it counts for nothing if you don’t score the goals to go with it.

Should have killed them off in the first half. Second half poor with a not totally surprising outcome.

Overall so far it is a pretty average start to the season. In truth we have only played two good games all season - Sheff Wed (when we had JWP) and Leeds. I expect we will be there or thereabouts for quite a while in terms of the play-offs because there is not an awful lot of quality in this league but we don't look that great do we? I fear that RM is not going to give us what we want and a long season of not very much lies ahead of us.

In truth this was daylight robbery, their goalie was MOM by a country mile.

The substitutions made us much worse, so what was the point, I can’t believe these players can’t do 90 minutes with a 2 week break coming up. If we keep the first 11, we win the game.

Bazunu’s positioning for their goal was awful.

When Rotherham were pushing for the equalizer the lack of urgency on the break was naive in the extreme, to play tippy tippy instead of using the space - I think this is what caused the booing at the end.

Clearly play offs is the best we can hope for.

Just take heart fellow Saints fans After 11 matches last season Burnley were only one point better than we are right now

As it is all so close in the Championship table, it would have been far better to go for more goals - not only to kill the game off and secure the win, but also to increase our already piss poor goal difference, which could well make a difference to our final position.

Scoring so early and dominating gave a false sense of security to the players and manager alike. Everyone else could see it was obvious to go for more goals - especially with our awful defensive record of 1 clean sheet, stretching back more than 20 games !!

So to adopt the boring tippy tappy shit for the 2nd half deserves all the criticism it gets. Sure we had 80% possession and the lion's share of chances but we always gift the opposition chances as well. After scoring so early, we should have been going for 4 or 5 goals, not trying to keep it 1-0.

It reminded me at times, of when we took the lead in Prem games and reverted straight back to defence mode. That didn't work either !!
