Laudup is playing the waiting game on this too see what the big boys end up with, personally i hope liverpool keep suarez as maybe thats the key to possibly getting Borini on a seaosn loan as he would be behind suarez, aspas and sturridge. Also guidetti is still at man city. Not sure what Arsenal or Man utd could offer us as a back up stiker, chelsea get rooney then Ba or Lukaku maybe an option

Yea I agree. Of the names you mention they all look good, but do you think that Borini will cut it in the PL? He was brill in the Championship for us.

What about a return to the fold for Luke Warm?

- Cheap
- Home grown quota
- Won't whine
- Does a job off the bench

I like Moore too, but for some reason Laudrup obviously doesn't.

I wonder if it's because the guy always looks so chilled?

IMO Borini is the ideal fit for us, different style of striker, knows our game and has an already affinity with the club and fans. Also he is a quality player being under utilised by his current manager.

Would qualify as a home grown player so will. Also would allow us to get rid of dead wood - Moore and Lita

I made this point on another thread but didn't find much support.

Too many changes at once is not usually a good thing and I'd prefer to see Moore and Donnelly providing attacking cover rather than more new players arriving. They also count as home-grown with UEFA which is something else we have to consider.

If Bony stays fit then I wouldn't expect the back up strikers to play too many games next season, and Michu can always play up front if Bony is missing.

We need better than a player that will show one or two flashes of brilliance in a season and then for the rest of it be hopelessly lazy and poor. He is only at the club right now for the same reason as Lita, he is in contract and no one is foolish enough to take them off us.

That's a bit crazy, given that the gaffer had a rep for being Mr laid back himself.

Didn't Cruyff once say he wishes he had him at 100%, because even at 80% he was better than everyone else

I'd rather someone who is "lazy" than potentially recruit Schecter mk2 who ran around at 110 MPH and offered zero

I am afraid Mike has made his decision on Luke.

To me it looks like we are waiting on a season long loan for someone like Lukaku or Borini.

I don't see the club splashing out on another big signing and I can't see Mike compromising on the type of player he wants in the squad.

We have two experienced strikers in Bony and Michu.
Borini offers something different and also has experience.

With the likes of Donelly or Pozuelo and possibly playing 6 midfielders up top I can see this dragging on for a few games into the season.

I'd say the club's priorities now is to get some of the outgoing players a home.

We got an A rating for our signings as it is.

Maybe someone like Lukako or Ba but no like they'd come to Swansea to play as a backup striker

agreed but ML didn't last season hence the amount of game time shechter got compared to Moore.
Personally i don't want to see Moore or Lita near are game squad again, we can and will do a lot better. We just need to find clubs to take these players off us which is easier said than done

That's a little harsh on Moore - I think he's a decent footballer and seems to fit in well with the squad. Also, Monk was told to leave last season but managed to changed ML's mind.

I don't want to see us become just another cheque-book club. I'd love to see Donnelly given a chance to get 10-15 sub appearances this season in all comps.

Of course, if someone like Borini or similar becomes available on loan then we'd have to go for it, but IMO there's no point in bringing in someone like Shechter or Emnes who are no better than Moore and will only deny Donnelly a place on the bench.

agreed, i would rather us use Donnelly than sign a Schechter MK2, i'd rather we played him over Moore as well. I don't want us to sign a player for the sake of it, and all this talk of back up striker is tosh, Bony can't play 50+ games so we need someone who could potentially start 10+ games and contribute to the team in a GOALSCORING capacity, which clearly Moore can not do on a regular basis

We need a goalscorer, not yet another midfielder.

Moores scorings record is almost as bad as Ashley Williams.
