Chelsea report ref 18:04 - Oct 29 with 5923 views | scouseR | Chelsea have reported ref clattenburg to fa for inappropriate language .. Chelsea report ref on 11:36 - Oct 30 with 1381 views | Phildo | if you go to a rugby international you can buy a ref link radio and listen to what the ref is saying throughout the match - I can only imagine the reason these have not come in with football is the players swearing. I think these would enhance football and help with the whole respect thing.
Chelsea report ref on 12:26 - Oct 30 with 1343 views | derbyhoop | In football, that would need an X certificate.

Chelsea report ref on 12:37 - Oct 30 with 1328 views | scot1963 | don't know if anyone else has mentioned it already, but just reading an article by Graham Poll (yes it is the Mail) and he says he was previously accused by Chelsea players after he sent John Terry off in a match against Spurs (2006 I think) - apparently three of the players heard him say he was going to 'sort them out' and they then had to retract their statements when Poll was vindicated

Wasn't that the game where there were strong rumours that JT "allegedly" racially abused Ledley King? But it was conveniently swept under the carpet???

This is why ref's mics now need to be recorded. At the moment, Chelsea have made a claim that might not be able to be proved one way or the other. So we now have a situation where the ref's reputation is in doubt and Chelsea are making themselves out to be the victim. A tad too convenient if you ask me.

This would be the best thing ever. There would be absolute carnage for a couple of weeks, but this being football, money would talk. Sponsors would go mental, Clubs/the Authorities would go into panic mode about sponsors being scared off, agents would be begging their players to stop screaming abuse at the officials, referees would have no option but to send players off and we might - just might - have a situation where a ref can award a blatant throw-in to Team A without half of Team B screaming at him and telling him to fu ck off. How good would that be?

I actually think Clattenberg had a good game!!! The 1st sending off was for sure a red card all day long Torres also dived from Clattenbergs view - yes evans got a touch - but Torres did not react to that instead he dived a second later and from Clatternbergs view a yellow all day! Sorry but we moan at refs for not doing anything all day about diving and as soon as someone does we slay him. Plus he send off 2 chelsea players which was great!

Slow mo of the ivanovic 'foul' show there was actually minimal contact and what contact there was, was Ivanovic trying to avoid contact. Certainly not a 'professional foul' but at the same time if the ref sees contact he has to send him off there.

Chelsea report ref on 18:59 - Oct 30 with 1104 views | gueRRilla | Interesting profile on Clattenburg: Mark Clattenburg has long cut a precocious figure; in the best and worst senses of the word. First seen running the line in the rough, tough Northern League at the age of 18, he became a Football League referee at a then unprecedented 25 and made the prestigious Fifa list shortly after his 30th birthday. Still only 37 and now ranked among the world's foremost officials, Clattenburg openly enjoys the trappings of success. He has embraced the 21st century's "look at me" celebrity culture to the extent that, with his love of expensive sports cars, designer labels and artfully applied hair gel, he could easily be confused with the Premier League footballers he is paid to control. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/oct/29/mark-clattenburg-referee-chelsea-

i read this as well and dont forget how they destroyed that switz ref in europe they have form in attacking refs unless theres tv pictures or the other officals heard clattenburg say something or he admits it then he's innocent end off fa must stand up for their officals other wise every bloodly ref will be up on charges with teams making up complants in revenge for losing matches

The fact that Chelsea & the players involved have had several days to think hard about it and pressed on with the complaint whilst dropping a second suggests that the players involved feel they've definitely not misunderstood what was said, and that Chelsea are very confident they can prove 'on the balance of probabilities' that it happened. Hopefully it is sorted either way very quickly.

Well, they originally reported both incidents but have had their very expensive legal team in today. Probably a damage limitation exercise based on the "there is no camera evidence to prove he didn't say it" malarkey they pulled with the racist centre half. Very nicely sung by United fans this evening, by the way.

Well they've dropped the second complaint due to lack of evidence - our word vs yours - so to have pressed on with the racial complaint would imply they feel they have more than that. If it really is 3 Chelsea players' word v 4 officials word then to proceed would be madness imo. A 'balance of probabilities' would surely fall on a misunderstanding.

Except of course, we don't know why they decided not to proceed with the second complaint but it does mean that 50% of their initial complaint was not justified. Probably proceeding due to what is likely to happen to Obi 1 for breaking into the ref's changing room, more attempted damage limitation. The "throw enough shit" defence.

Chelsea report ref on 23:54 - Oct 31 with 870 views | Brightonhoop | I truly despise this generation of scum and cockroaches masquerading as professional footballers. A pox on them all.
Chelsea report ref on 08:48 - Nov 1 with 1018 views | BazWoT | Probably a lot more to come out but reading this morning, in brief, this is what is being alleged. During one of many verbal exchanges between the ref and Mikel, Ramires heard the ref say "shut it monkey". He wasn't sure what he'd heard and checked it with Luiz. Who confirmed what Ramires had thought he'd heard. Luiz did not hear it. After the game Luiz translated Ramires' account to confirm the comment. That was what set Obi 1 off apparently. Well, it would. Having had my son constantly showing me footage of Luiz, his mad sense of humour and complete wind up merchant, it wouldn't surprise me if he said something in jest to Ramires and then later realised the seriousness of what was taking place. Not that I'm saying that is the case obviously. One thing is certain, Clattenberg does not speak Portuguese. Also, if the picture in the papers of when the incident is supposed to have happened, there is no way on earth that a fan in the ground could have heard it.
